I've had 4 of my FSU friends ask me if i think T Rob would come to FSU if they offered. Not sure if this is just message board chatter they are getting at and I'm not sure he's ready to be a DC. But just wonder what everyone else on here thought of this.

If they offered him a DC position, sure. I would too. More money, better position, etc.

    Unless UF offers the same.

I would say from a recruiting standpoint, pay him whatever it take to keep him a Gator.

I've only seen this mentioned on Gator sites and boards. I went to a couple fsu boards (yuck), and have not seen him mentioned. I've mostly seen internal candidates (Sunseri/Kelly), or others like Chizik or Orgeron. Granted it's early and T-Rob's name may eventually surface as a candidate. We'll see.

We already lost his two best recruits (not by any fault of his) and the other recruits (Wilson, Clark) are solid or enrolled (Dawson, Tabor).

It wouldn't actually be the end of the world for this class although it would definitely hurt future classes.

First off, you need new friends!!!

Second, I think this "rumor" was started by Zach A (from G-Sun). He simply tweeted something about "Would FSU look at another SEC DB coach to be their DC?" I don't think he's going anywhere unless it's as DC.

His area is South Florida, so he likely has several prospects still in play (Mckenzie/Harris/Worton). I would imagine he was instrumental in landing Tabor as well. Bottom line, we need to keep this guy.

Are you serious? Durkin is every bit the recruiter that Robinson is; probably even better. He's also happens to be an awesome coach. To have an offense that sucked as badly as ours, that constantly went three and out, and kept our (injury depleted) defense on the field for long stretches and still place that unit in the top-10 statistically?

If that was a serious comment, that might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard posted on this board.

I believe TRob has some loyalty to Muschamp for giving him this shot. Durkin is also proof that Muschamp is fine with promoting from within. I would love for TRob to be the next DC at UF in a new years.

Durkin is a better recruiter than T Rob. Durkin can recruit four or five states successfully and will bring in the handful of best-at-their position types. T-Rob will keep it going in South Florida and will keep us in the hunt for the fine DB talent we have their, but he basically recruits his own players.

Then we need them both obviously because south Florida is as good as recruiting 4/5 states...

I'm certainly not a football coach and don't know anything about recruiting other than statistical figures. In 2013, FSU was +20 on us in number of players below the I-4 cooridor, the same area Howard Schnellenberger coined "The State of South Florida".

Durkin was rivals recruiter of the year in 2012 and t-rob was in 2013. So I would say we got 2 good ones. :)

Robinson is no where near ready to be a DC at that level, and if you've ever heard Durkin speak
he's going to be a HC soon.
