Putin is on a roll. He rightly calls John Kerry a liar, and now he's trying to save both Obama's and Assad's butts at the same time. The man is an evil genius.

Hell, if Kim Jong Un can broker a scenario wherein we avoid military intervention and Syria stops using chemical weapons I'll take it.

Let's let Congress get briefed on all of the classified facts before making any rash decision.

In the meantime, Obama has delayed any immediate military action by us which has enabled him to shrewdly compel Putin to reach out to Syria to try to convince them to make a deal. It is not in Russia's interest to have Assad's command and control, airport runways and weapons platforms bombed. Obama is playing this masterfully. I'm sure Israel appreciates this, too. Obama has been very prudent on this issue.

You got it backwards, Bill. Obama more or less has a gun to Putin's 9or at least his ally's) head.

Demian Buchir, one of the lead actors of the new series on FX called The Bridge. It's just my way of indicating that I'm pro-immigration reform. Something, I imagine, that the righties on here are against.

But only if we pay Un 2 trillion dollars brokerage fee; we give up the right to retaliate if NK attacks either South Korea and / or Hawaii; and we promise not to draw any more red lines, anywhere.

That could be an attractive deal for this administration.

If this was a game of basketball HORSE Putin spelled Horse twice before Obama could put up an H. Embarrassing but will keep us from starting another war with camel jockeys that is not winnable.

I believe Kerry testified that the rebellion is led by moderates.

I heard on the news just yesterday that the Syrian rebels so far have not received any of the weapons that the U.S. promised them. Why? We can't figure out who best to give them to. Why not give them to the moderates?

So now it's being reported that Syria putting its chemical weapons under international control was Kerry's idea, not Putin's. So I take back what I said about Putin. He's evil and he's not a genius.

As for Kerry, he has already said of his own proposal that "it can't be done." ("I want war, damnit! Obama wants war. We all want war. Forget everything I once said as an anti-war activist. I wasn't a puppet on a string back then.")

lets let Kerry "think" it is "his idea". We know how Kerry is when it is not his idea. He will throw his Secretary of State nametag in a local river like he did his Viet Nam medals, if you don't let him "think" it was his idea.

Not sure if he's "playing it masterfully" or just stumbled into a preferable situation, but it's the correct course IMO. As Syria's patron, so to speak, IMO Russia bears a lot of responsibility in making this situation right.
