Awesome! I want them beating our ass sooner than later. It is great to have our conference tougher.

I wonder what the "intangibles" were.

I will never understand how you could have this sentiment. Hoping the conference gets better and more challenging is one thing, but actually having a desire for them to beat your own team's ass is bizarre.

They very well may be good soon (three or four years from now), but it won't be because of this guy. Next year (in Mason's only year at Auburn) they might rise to the middle of pack in the SEC but not beyond that.

BTW, Mason shot 44.0% from the field last season, and just 28.6% from the three point line (48 of 168). He's a Marshall Henderson-styled "volume" shooter. If Pearl allows him to average 25 points a game next year, Auburn will be awful.

Bruce always builds those big physical teams that have given us trouble over the years. Since he left, Tennessee has stayed in that mold. If he builds similar teams at AU, I'll be sad.

Nah. Auburn will coach him up not to do those things.

And by those things I mean get caught.

I just have a different mindset than most. I don't mind my team getting beat...in fact from time to time all teams need this IMHO.

Pearl isn't likely to let Mason average 25 ppg unless he becomes a substantially better shooter, just like coach Donovan won't let Hill become a 15 ppg scorer unless he substantially improves his shooting.

Pear is an excellent coach, although perhaps not an excellent person (I don't know him personally, so I can't say).

Maybe Pearl's sweat is like Samson's hair.

Let's send him a case of the best anti-perspirant money can buy.
