Hopefully GC will be going to the new forums in a few days and when GC arrives there Swamp Gas will transition to a new style.

Back when I first started in the late 90's Swamp Gas was the only football forum. GC, did not have Insider forums.

Since that time Swamp Gas has had minor changes but the biggest change is what is allowed to be posted. Pre Zook there was no criticism allowed of players and/or coaches. GC has evolved somewhat in that time and is at a place to allow lots of criticism, but still no insults to players, members or coaches.

In that evolution GC has lost a lot of its civility and community. Swamp Gas was never intended to be the receptacle of every diverse opinion, rant and rave about Gator football. It was for civil discussion of Gator football. The Bull Gator Den would be for a couple of things, more critical discussion of the Gators and more Insider information.

When GC moves, Swamp Gas will again be a forum for civility with no insults, masked or direct.

We know there will be fallout and GC will not be the forum for everyone, especially if posters would rather insult than discuss. We will ask our paying members to follow the rules and if they wish to have a more critical view they will be asked to post on the premium side.

I know a couple of posters have mentioned to me recently that GC is getting less tolerant than the old days and while that has been true, it will be even more so on the move.

It is hoped that everyone that posts here will follow the rules, the moderators will try to work with folks to make sure they know what is expected and if GC feels that a poster does not want to conform to GC rules their posting privileges will be removed.

GatorNana will be the administrator over this forum. For at least a while all decisions on warnings and bans will be hers so that we know that things will be seen through the same set of eyes and you will not have one mod banning for this and another one not banning for that.

Moderators, as well as members, will report posts and those reports will go to GatorNana and she will make the decision. You can always appeal to Customer Service through the contact link on the GC home page. That will go to Bernadette and she will work it from there.

We will begin to remove posts and threads from Swamp Gas that are no longer allowed so they will not be exported to new site.

If you have a question send me a PM

To folks who say we are bias to one side....

Sometimes critical analysis of a coach includes an insult to a coach, player or GC member.

Rarely does a defender's view of the coach or player include an insult. Sometimes it does insult the one with the critical analysis.

So, more posts from the critical side will get their posts edited or deleted and banned than the defenders.

Plus as the pendulum swings their are more critics than defenders

As we move to the new site the rules will tighten that will affect the critics more than the defenders unless the critics confine their criticism to calm and cool analysis.
