Muschamp has played a bad hand poorly. Still, he deserves another year to finish getting his guys installed, and he's extremely likely to get it.
Even if you do support getting rid of him you've got to realize this would be a very bad year to do it. UT will get the first pick of coaches this year. USC likely gets the second pick of coaches (LA>Gainesville). So that would leave us as the 3rd best opening of the year.
Wait two years, either Muschamp wins or Chip Kelly will likely become available.
Muschamp is doing fine, we'll be okay.
The only mistake he has made is that in his first year of recruiting he failed to get a third offensive lineman. Wouldn't have been a problem if Dunker were not an idiot & Green hadn't been injured. But, honestly to get two of the top linemen in the first class was outstanding. The second o-line class was good. The third o-line class looks to be good - get one of the top guys & it will be very good.
Muschamp has made very good hires. Weis was a mistake, but at the time everyone thought it was a coup. A lot of highly thought of coaches were after Pease & Muschamp got him. We'll see how that turns out. Brad Lawing might be the best d-line coach in the SEC, Muschamp got him to UF. Joker Phillips has always been a highly regarded receivers coach & Muschamp brought him into the fold. Tim Davis was the USCw o-line coach when they were good & winning a MNC. Travaris Robinson is the #1 rated recruiter in the country. Chris Leak is a very cerebral QB & getting him on the staff was another great move.
It's going to take two more years. People need to be patient. Being reactionary is not what the program needs right now, we need stability.
Lots of good coaches out there...at least a lot better than Muschamp.
Just got home from work not to long ago--
Figured the board would have melted down --
Seems I was correct.
How are they shutting LSU down? Four hundred yards & 24 points in three quarters? LSU has thrown three picks, at least two in the endzone.
I still believe Muschamp is an excellent coach. Today was awful, but he knows the game well, and has so many great wins already.
Almost as badly as the team melted down...sigh
I've supported every coach from Pell to Muschamp. I gave WM the benefit of the doubt. Sorry, but, I can no longer support this dumpster fire of a hc or assistants. 4 years from now will be the same thing, same problems and same excuses with this group. There has been zero progress on offense in 2.5 years.
It's time to stop blaming he who shall remain nameless, and put the blame where it rests. This entire staff.
Qb play as bad now as 1st year, o-line as poor as 1st year, wr play as non-existant as year 1, play calling as bad as year 1, and for some unexplainable reason the hotshot new playmakers aren't ready to play, while at other schools nationwide their young playmakers play and contribute.
I was ready for Zook to go and I am ready for this clownshow to end. Not that my thoughts or opinions matter.
Nah, the team was MUCH worse today.
This! (and they wouldn't be UGA alums)
He's an excellent assistant coach
A lot of the players on that Auburn team are players that Malzahn recruited before he left. They are already familiar with his offense, which is why they saw immediate improvement...one more thing, AU has a loss.
I'm ready to move on too.
Because at this rate, I think my Jaguars will rise out of the ashes earlier than my beloved Gators. I'm so tired of losing and waiting, I haven't seen a good offense in years. Remember when everybody turned towards Tebow's 2011 year in Denver as an outlet for how horrible we were... That was sad.
So many? You don't even need a full set of fingers on one hand to count Muschamp's 'great wins'.
This is how I feel. Just not feeling it anymore.
For all of you Muschamp apologists, were you this devoted to Zook as well? I imagine more than a few of you were ready to fire Zook pretty quickly. I support all of our HBCs but there's a point when you have to fold your cards and just accept that you don't have the hand to win it all, and I think that Muschamp is a hand that needs to be folded.
He's had 2 1/2 years...the first taking over an absolute mess.
He's saying the injury excuse is just that, an excuse. Ole Miss may beat LSU tonight with most of their defense out and a number of offensive players too.
And 2 1/2 years later we are still an absolute mess.
