Zook was in over his head. It showed. How did he get screwed? He got a job he wasn't qualified for, and became a rich man of it. His consolation price after he got fired was he got another job he wasn't qualified for. He was Kiffin before Kiffin (without the douchebaggery). Unfortunately Boom looks to be in over his head too.

The previous posters elaborated their positions with examples. You didn't. I suppose you are a recognized expert? And Zook took Illinois to the Rose Bowl with a 9-3 record. That is the SEC equivalent of taking Kentucky to the Sugar Bowl, while LSU played in the MNC game.

What they said is largely true. He wasn't the head coach Meyer is, but he had a hard time here before he even had a chance to prove he was under qualified.

I'm as much of an expert as you. Zook simply didn't have the résumé to merit a job like UF. Period. There's no argument there. It was a desperate move by Foley after being caught off guard by Spurrier and left at the altar by Stoops. As far as record at Illinois, I guess the AD disagreed with you since he fired him. Last I heard he was working for a bank. I guess nobody gave poor ole Ron a fair shake.

Hah, if you think Driskel would have won us either of the last two games, then please pass whatever you are puffing on.

Someone needs to review their history. There were two losses to Ole Miss when his senior all world QB threw four ints in one, and his freshman QB thew four in another.

There was a bad game against UT when Ingle Martin could not even take a clean snap; the same Ingle who was running Miami ragged in an earlier game until they knocked him out.

Of course Zook had a couple of big games stolen--already noted.

Then there was MSU. What else? Did he have any more "play down" to inferior teams than our award winning coaches in their first three years, or any three years for that matter?

The only thing I hate wolrse than revisionist history is false history.

I am with him for the season...

but hoping he makes an offense coaching change now, not later. Franz's column pointed out that Pease was a great WR coach for 5 years at Boise -- and Joker was a great OC.

Why not just switch those two positions? No one's fired. And Joker's personality will get that offense fired up.
