Leaving in about ten to the park... We are getting ready to get on a major run. I predict we win next 12 out of 15.

The Gators need to start hitting or this season is going to be painful.

Completely befuddled by a Big 10 pitching staff on it's 4th game of the weekend. I'm not even mad anymore. This is just sad.

Just heard that in 6 games at McKethan this weekend there were No HRs. Hard to believe. Were I back in Gainesville, not sure I'd recognize college baseball.

Still had a blast at the game with the family but this team is horrible at producing runs. The thing I heard the most from the stands was swing the bat. They seem to watch a lot of good pitches. Their baserunning was dreadful as well.

Coach O'Sullivan said the team was in a rut. How can you be in a rut when the season just started?

This then is a prolonged rut, began last year. How soon before the team losses support? Nothing worse than watching 9 innings of anemic offense. I like Sully but nuff with the excuses.

From what I've seen so far this season the support is already dwindling. Even viewing the players demeanor it seems they're defeated already this early in the season. Today alone you would've thought Illinois was the home team. Their players and fans were more energetic. Sully has his work cut out for him.

Still lots of games to be played but this has to be concerning. The constant denominator here is terrible plate discipline. When do we start thinking about a change to the hitting coach?

The entire team has 18 extra base hits in 12 games. That's the only explanation required. They don't hit the damn baseball hard. You cannot single and bunt your way to wins in this sport, even in this era. The odds just don't work out in your favor to consistently string 3 singles together before 3 outs happen. It's very simple math.

So what's the solution? Is it better assessment in recruiting? New hitting coach? Different S&C? It just appears to me we are headed backwards. I know the season is just beginning but its not like we've faced top ten teams.

Yes, but games with those top 10 teams will start as soon as the SEC season starts.
