There you go, ruining it for the bitchers, moaners, complainers and doubters on this board by putting plain facts into view!

12 first downs and 200 yards per game. The defense is a little obscene at this point.

Our offensive stats reveal that we are better than we are reported to be!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: This team is elite defensively, and good offensively. The numbers won't show it, but we are way above average in most advanced offensive statistics.

The problem is, we still haven't seen our third string running back (despite being almost halfway through the season), we aren't putting away bad teams, and we aren't scoring with great success in the red-zone.

A lot of people who have complained about the offense aren't complaining about the talent level (which is clearly there) but the way that talent is being put to use. It's starting to get better -- just as it did last year -- but there are definitely things I would like to see out of the coaching staff. Hopefully these things won't come back to bite us more than they already have (I see the loss to Miami as being a possible product of the fact that we hardly passed the ball against Toledo).

OK, see if this sobers you up some. These stats are through 5 games against some god awful competition, 15-13 combined record and we lost to the one team who is above .500. In the next 5 games we will be playing teams with a combined record of 21-6 and 4 of them ranked.....Think those stats will look the same after the next 5 games.

The big difference is with a 12 point per game advantage and averaging 2 TO's per game ourselves we might need a bigger cushion from our offense because the teams we will be playing will be able to actually execute enough on offense unlike UK, UT, and Arky to win against us, oh and did I mention our kicking game won't likely be able to save us this year either....

Not trying to be a downer but sometimes stats just set you up for a big letdown.

I don't think stats do anything ... stats are just stats.

For not trying to be a downer you seem to spend a lot of time doing just that.

I'm sure Jonestown was full of happy agreeable people also....Listen, I'm pretty much a sunshine pumper when discussing UF football and although I'm always happy when we win I also don't think it hurts to discuss some of the reoccurring bad things about the team either.

Miami averages 488 yards per game. Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky are just under 400. We are giving up 210.

I assume you are referencing the Jonestown Massacre. I wasn't in Jonestown and must confess I am far from sure it was full of happy agreeable people. Regardless, I cannot find any parallel between the Jonestown Massacre and this thread.

Most other teams have played weaker schedules so far.

The connection would be somewhere in the statistical Koolaid and it's magical powers to make all bad things go away....in this case LSU,UGA, USCe and Clown State University....

Maybe you'd better go back and re-examine those supposedly god-awful teams we've played. Did you watch any of the other games from last weekend?

Those aren't god-awful teams. Not a damn one of them. I'm not sure what you've been smoking but you need to leave it alone.
