Staver wanted no part in a spread offense. Doesn't fit his skillset and he knows it.
Did we do better with Skylar? No, he was so bad, the had an offensive tackle ready to tackle him if he tried to throw downfield. Add Grier and you have 3 QB.
Last I read (a couple months ago) the plan was to redshirt Grier and he said he thought that was the best thing to do. Has that changed?
I imagine it would if some how we lose murphy and driskel again and Wilkes isn't cutting it. Other wise he will red shirt.
We don't even know who the new OC is, but yet we are supposed to have people leaving due to the new O. What new O?
No one knows what O we will run and I am sure the QB's are going to miss the one we now run.
Go lookup the third QB rule . . . you have your facts all messed up.
In any event, it is a misplaced analogy. The NFL got rid of that rule recently.
Still, if your point is that not having 4 QBs may lose us a game . . . I would submit that if you get to your 4th string QB, you are going to lose anyway.
What? He got two highly rated QBs in the same class . . . We didn't sign even another remotely decent QB for three years.
So, if i understand you correctly, you are complaining that Muschamp signed third/fourth string QBs?? And in a thread complaining about the fact that our . . . third and fourth string QBs are transferring?
I’m not sure how they can RS Grier if he’s only our 3rd QB now. I’ll ask you this though for conversation sake. Do you think that because a new OC is coming in and haveing them all learn a new system and playbook, puts them somewhat on an even playing field? Gier and Murphy more so then Grier and JD.
Oh, yeah, because Staver is ever seeing the field in a pro set offense . . .
Actually, why wouldn't you red shirt the 3d string qb? Thought that was standard practice. You can always pull it if the need arises.
Brewski, I think you’re right. For some reason I though once they were given the RS they couldn’t play. I say then, that I still think he ends up burning it, but hope not.
