My guess is that they know we are going towards the spread and they want a pro-passing scheme. We shall see if they do indeed transfer. I think both of them are long term projects and you never know when your opportunity will come along. Now if they are ready to go FCS and compete then good luck to them.
And yes, you need a few projects on your team just in case.
"Per UF, of 71 Muschamp signees, 14 transferred, 2 never made it to campus, one took a medical hardship and one left early for the NFL draft."
Mornhinweg was a late add by Pease, who is friends with his dad. Couple that connection with Grier coming in to complement Driskel/Murphy, and this makes perfect sense.
Bleh! Emergency depth is overrated...especially when the results are the same.
@maxstaver: Thank you to everyone for the experience down there and the support. I will miss my teammates, friends, and also the Gator fans. God Bless.
Good luck to them at the NAIA level
He cited the new offense. He said he wouldn't fit in it. So it seems the spread rumors are true
So kelvin taylor wasn't a hit? Humphries? d robinson.?
Taylor hit. Humphries meh. Robinson Who?
I think hit means more than recruiting ranking.
And the transfers with the exception of Kent taylor, we're all guys most on here were wondering why they're even on the roster.
We have 18 commits so far and still have big time targets that we have legitimate chances at like adoree jackson, Jamal adams, tabor, L. Carter, L. Featherston, Holley, Prince, and other lineman they are targeting. Not saying we get all them but we have a good shot at them all.
These transfers are needed to sign better players. I didn't suspect staver but not surprise or even care because he may never have played a down.
I thought you were referring to big hits in the class on signing day. Either way those guys are young but still talented. Humphries is under weight but was #1 ol taylor is good and robinson needs to get his head right but can still be good.
Overall your right the best has been on defense hence the top 10 defense each year, offense meh. but all the transfers are not only offensive. Ledbetter is really a safety and is transferring to be one, williams is defense as well.
Muschamp is lying to everybody about the move to the spread.
WOW....HATE TO LOSE STAVER..............
Sorry to see them go, but wish them the absolute best of luck! They were backups for a reason, and I doubt we will see the same number of injuries as we had this past year! Will Grier will be a star in the SEC….very soon!
I think one of Muschamp's real weaknesses is thinking that he had to recruit at least one QB each year.
Spurrier was far wiser. When he got 1 or 2 good prospects one year, he didn't go for another until at least two years later because he knew he couldn't possibly get good ones. And Muchamp also couldn't possibly get good ones, so his approach is massively foolish because it means you give up another scholarship offer when you could pull a good one.
Yet another failed strategy.
So how long is the bitching about the Coach going to continue ?
I mean, are you guys hoping for a "told you so" moment in the future or something, or are you really Gator fans ?
There is still a few that will have to have the pitchforks pried from their dead cold hands. But there are a few I noticed at least trying to be positive(or neutral). Maybe we'll receive some good news that slaps the remaining ones right in the kisser with optimism and a brighter outlook on our forthcoming season. #GoGators
