Didn't UF try something similar with eight linemen 2-3 years ago?
Why stop at 9...put 10 out there and get rid of the QB and direct snap it to the back...now that would be fun to watch.
this is exactly what we need to do....stop all this passing nonsense lol
Sounds like dull football.
If it works though, a win is a win. Just ask our offense... :ninja:
If they use that in a goal line situation and punch it in....guaranteed Sportscenter highlight.
sounds like a great idea for short yardage situations. We should have done it at UM when we needed a yard and couldn't get the first down.
Woul've been the perfect offense for Tebow. Just him and a bunch of linemen. He could've run every play or passed it to himself. Might have messed up the read option though. Maybe that's what some NFL team should go to and sign Tebow to run it.
It would be very difficult to defend against. At some point in the line, you would likely have a significant weight advantage ...
It would probably bankrupt the school trying to feed all those monsters...
It is actually quite brilliant. You create a wider box and more gaps for the defense to fit. Opposing defenses have to decide if they want to stay with short yardage/goalline personnel to to fit those gaps or keep in base personnel to protect against a big run. So many of our big runs last year came out of unbalanced formations or jumbo packages where defenses got caught between those two options.
I feel we need to give Darius Cummings a chance as a fullback with nine bigs up front and Tyler taking the ball and either give to the big guy, to allow him the chance to make up for tripping on a mole, or Tyler pulls it out and runs to any large gap created on this goal line formation. LOL
Think the Fridge and the Da Bears!
I liked the line use of Stanford. I too, think this is great job to create mismatches on the LOS. My thinking is that you are gonna have a S or LB against a 285 lb OLineman mashing on you and there is a gap for the run. Or you bring everyone in against the short run and there is play action to an end. Sounds difficult for short yardage.
Are we going to start seeing DL identified as 11-techs?
Funny. I honestly have no clue how they would identify techniques in that situation.
