After landing in New Orleans late Thursday morning, the Raiders football team devoured lunch at the airport and bussed straight to the site of its game against John Curtis Christian (La.) on Friday night for a walk-through practice. "It was a great experience," said senior linebacker Denzel Hatcher, like many teammates, making his first trip to Louisiana. "I'm just happy to play here at a program like this where I've got the opportunity to go play at NFL stadiums and fulfill dreams." Said quarterback Wade Freebeck: "It's awesome. It's a cool stadium. It's been a lot of fun just taking the trip with the team, all the guys. It's very exciting." St. Thomas will face John Curtis in the second game of the Allstate Sugar Bowl Prep Football Showcase doubleheader. It is scheduled to kick off after 9:30 p.m. Eastern Time and will be televised on Fox Sports Florida. Coach Rocco Casullo said only one player had ever been to the Superdome before, so naturally many players, even those who were on the team when it traveled to Cowboys Stadium to play Skyline (Texas) in 2010, looked around in awe Thursday. They weren't alone. "I was looking around. [Assistant] coaches were looking around," Casullo said. "This is a great opportunity not only for the staff, but our players to be in the Superdome. There's a lot of history in this place. It's fun for the kids."
