Well, the "dried up, has been, angry old coach" is in a bowl and ours isn't.
    Ours is just angry.

What did Spurrier say that's not true? Gator fans near Orlando may as well go watch a bowl game. I've seen Penn State, Michigan State and Michigan play the gators there. When I heard Spurrier say that on the radio, after I quit laughing, my second reaction was, "why not, I could go to that game."

Spurrier probably needles his wife and his kids too. Do you guys not needle your friends and family, people that you love? In the immortal words of Sgt. Hulka, "lighten up Francis."

I didn't see it as a dig. But I probably would have if he had never been the coach of Gamecocks. You have to admit he is the closest to a standup comedian as any college coach gets when he's your coach.

I'm sure most Gators that were fans during his reign would say if was a fun ride.

He's definitely one of a kind.

It's a shame Urban never zinged Spurrier about all those Independence and Papa Johns (oh the irony) Bowls he's gone to....and lost.

That's the problem, Urban, and most other college football coaches for that matter, either don't know how to 'zing' or are afraid to.

Wrong, Meyer did it to FSU all the time. He would always refer to them as the SOW. (School out west) But that was the extent of his "zings". I think he felt it was a bad idea to give teams extra motivation. He is a master motivater, he knows how dangerous that can be. (Chip on your shoulder)

I think he did it to FSU, just to please the fans. Because as we know, he was just a hired gun and couldn't care less about OUR rivals.

As I think back a little more, I do remember him calling unnecessary timeouts against UGA, while we were up big. But even then, that was in response to UGS's TD dance the year before.

As for spurrier, it seems like he gets off on making fun of other programs. It's gotten old, IMO. Never was a fan of it to begin with, really.

I'm definitely in the minority though. Most everyone here, spurrier can do no wrong.

Maybe we should just focus on beating the teams we're supposed to beat. You know...like Vandy and Ga. Southern.

It is easier to zing when you have a top tier team instead of one that many like Hotlz said he couldn't win at.

Spurrier is THE Gator, not just a Gator. From Heisman's to SEC titles, to National titles, he got us there first.
Winding up as the all time most winning coach in SEC history, he can say what he wants.

Spurrier has carte blanche with me. Love him. Not offended. Miss him. Miss the 90s. Miss hanging fitty.

    My endless love ...

He can football booty call me anytime he wants. Even when he's drunk at like 1:37 a.m.

You’re entitled to your opinion of Steve. The way he left was wrong but I believe he was frustrated with Mechum if I’m not mistaken and so gave the NFL, not a University a try and lots of HC do.. He wanted to come back but got skipped over by Meyer, when he wasn’t working in the NFL. So, might have UF pushed him to USC and because of this, he’s less of a Gator? lol…ok.

I’ll ask you this. I see the UF baseball cap as your PIC., and so if you were the HC of UFs baseball team and a Grad. of UF, but you were fired, would you take the USC HC job if offered? Should we call you a none Gator after you to, because I would take it in a heartbeat?
