Loved this clip giving recognition to Dawn Staley, women's basketball coach, DURING their spring game today. Nice catch too. QB was real nervous apparently.

    That's awesome!

Do the refs really have to throw the flag? I mean... C'mon.

That's what sports is all about... Fun should never be excluded.

Answer: Just too cool... but I hope he's desperate too. :D

Even at 69, Spurs is still The Man. He is having fun in Columbia and has stayed on the job much longer than I ever thought he would. The rest of the SEC better be glad he never went to Bama or LSU.

I loved it that the one ref signaled touchdown.

This! I only wish. In fact i would gamble away Urbans 2 NCs if SOS would have come home. For what he has accomplished at USC, who knows where we would be today with all the talent in the state of Florida.

To Spurrier, it is still a game.

Leaving UF was probably good for Spurrier in this regard. Had he stayed he probably would have stuck with the fun-n-gun too long. Leaving Florida gave him some perspective and leeway in this sense.

I don't think we win 2 NCs with Spurrier in lieu of Meyer.

Just curious why you think this. It seemed like he was just getting the offense rolling again when he left.

    Go GATORS!

Which is exactly why I think he would have been deeper into it. Obviously 2002 would not have had the same results, so he may have learned the same things he later learned with the Redskins and later South Carolina (growth and delegation), but we did well enough in 2002 that I think he would have stuck with it.

i think at UF he would have had better players than USC therefor he could run a more powerful offense.
The reason he shut it down was the quility of players. Especially with his luck, overall, in the QB position.

Maybe relative quality of players, but he began backtracking on that early on at the Redskins gig.

I miss Spurrier. Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like if he had stayed this entire time without getting burned out. (Please don't start with the "Urban got us two National Titles" stuff, that's a whole different conversation.)

Well we know what it would have been like because we were living it his last three years.
