I say Spurrier should back to run the offense and doesn't have to go on the road recruiting and Muschamp can have the defense. We can afford to pay both of them. We won't even ask for a resume this time ;)

That would be odd but cool. Like Co - head coaches. Spurrier could teach some of the intricacies of being a head ball coach and help speed up the natural learning curve cause I still believe muschamp will be a great head coach in due time.

Have you seen USC's offensive numbers the last few years?

Is that an indicator that Spurrier is not qualified to run the Gator offense? I don't pay close attention to USCe, but remember several of their key play makers suffering injuries.

Qualified? Sure. The best possible option in 2014? Not so sure.

Have you seen UFs numbers the last few years?

Or end of the year rankings compared to USC?

Of course. I didn't say it wouldn't be an upgrade, just not our "shoot for the stars" OC for 2014.

Frankly I think he's a much better HC now and a lot of that has to do with sacrificing the offense a bit.

Holy crap. SO the fire is out?
Well i wish we had a coach with the fire out that would get us in the top ten again ala USC.
If he had the resources Muschamp has at UF he would be more than likely be in the NC hunt at USC.
Just because he doesn't have the tools he had at UF in the 90's dosn't mean he is not still one of the best in the game.
Shoot you guys would probably watch a porshe race a pinto and throw crap that the Pinto driver about not being very good.

You do realize he has every resource as far as recruits go as we do right? I mean Chris lammons from plantation just went there ad did mike davis, this state I live in, south Carolina has a ton of stud players. Let's just name a few recent ones. I'll name three with in ten minutes of my store here in charleston that are all studs in the nfl. AJ green from the summerville green waves, Roddy white from James island hs., and our own Carlos dunlap from Fort Dorchester high school. Then there is a guy named clowney that came from rock hill south carolina. Christian Miller, linebacker we had committed but flipped to bama is from Lexington, sc 5 minutes from gamecock stadium. Don't be fooled by the " all the talent is in fla, tx, ca" non sense. Not to mention, several top recruits have had usc in their trimmed down list of choice schools. They had every opportunity to get a CJ spiller out of florida just as Clemson up the Rd did but they just didn't get him.

We do! And that wasn't good enough for some because there wasn't any hardware accompanied with that top 10 ranking. I don't think spurrier has even played in a bcs bowl game at usc let alone won any titles.

When we get THREE 11 win seasons in a row....then (and only then) will I discuss the deficiencies of other head coaches.

Spurrier sure likes spending time with Muschamp.

Yeah, they're about 50-60 spots higher than our offense the last few years.

Year------------Florida Total Offense----------USCe Total Offense--------Miss State Total Offense

    2011...........................105th....................................................74th...........................................84th
    2012..........................103d......................................................82d............................................79th
    2013..........................115th.....................................................36th...........................................42d

    Average..................108th......................................................63d.............................................68th

So tell me, how did Dan Mullen have offense virtually as good As Spurrier's with worse talent than USCe?

Spurrier is no longer an offensive guru, no matter how much Florida fans want to believe it is so.

I think Spur is overall wiser and uses the strengths he has vs. trying to re-create a 90s FL Offense at SC.

So are you saying that he chooses NOT to have a high-flying offense at USCe, even though other schools that do not have appreciably more talent than USCe do have them? Or are you saying he has grown as a coach and found a perfect formula to win big at USCe, after trying the offense thing and failing at it? If is the latter, I certainly agree, as he has grown tremendously as a head coach.
