We all know that The Price to buy out Champ's contract is $8,000,000. I believe this is the biggest factor of wether JF retains or dismisses champ. If ticket sales decline and boosters pull funding doesn't the amount lost from the boosters, ticket sales, and concessions cost much more than the buyout?? Furthermore if the team remains mediocre isnt this a much larger margin of diminishing returns than the price of the buyout?

It's my belief that paying the buyout would be cheaper...providing we have a coach lined up and ready to go. This energizes the players, fans, and boosters.

    What say you?

The amount of long term damage done to our program exceeds that number over and over again.

Do you know how Bowl revenue is split up between the SEC teams?

Wow, the UAA might have to simply break even for a year instead of kicking into the general scholly fund.

I don't think some people realize exactly the kind of insane money this program generates.

No, there isn't. It's the typically circle jerk that passes for fact on this site.

His buyout is $2 million for every year left on his contract, which I think goes through 2017, so $8 million would be correct.

I read a couple of articles that stated he has a 2 mil buyout per year on his contract. It's not hard to find if you google it.

I think the school would save money by not having to buy back unsold and overpriced ticket allotments.

What is the economic basis for this position?

Articles from Bleacher Report? I doubt any of us are privy to the actual contract. A lot of assumptions.

Just curious, have YOU seen it or read it? UAA is not part of the university.

Obviously you have never read anything about bowl game revenues! The only teams that ever make any money are the top 3-4 teams in the major bowl games. All the rest lose a ton of money since expenses almost ALWAYS exceed revenues! As far as buyouts go…..if we get rid of Muschamp, we deserve to lose every dime! This is a superb young coach who has had an injury-riddled season unmatched in the history of Gator football!

No, but I remember reading Meyer's a few years ago. Media can request it so there is no reason to believe what legit media is reporting about it.
