Fulwood is having quite the fall camp
And then we add Da'Vonte Phillips the following year. WR is looking bright for us in the near future again finally.
Fulwood, Robinson, Lane, Phillips would be the best WR corps we've had since Harvin, Murphy, Cooper and Nelson in '08. They might even give the '08 crew a run for the money when all is said and done. All depends on the quality of QB play.
we could get another top WR this cycle and I expect another one to add with Phillips. The QB play is in good hands with Jeff and Will.
Receiver, to my mind, has been the single most problematic position for us since Harvin and Murphy left. For a variety of reasons (Thompson's confidence, Debose's injuries and struggles with the new systems, Dunkley's injury and transfer, missing out on Diggs and Algohor), we have been unable to get and develop playmakers at receiver. Between the 2013, 2014, and hopefully 2015 classes, that should finally rectify itself and we can back to having the quality of receivers we did between, say, 1994 and 2008.
Amen to that.
Agree. We've just had tough break after tough break at the position. Even Ja'juan Story, the one "big" WR Meyer recruited in his last few years, bailed. You just can't have several consecutive years of strike-outs at a key position and expect to stay competitive in our conference.
Nicho I get what you are saying we missed a few positions but we went 11-2 last year. I think kicker and QB getting hurt, hurt us more than anything else in the down years. Plus the young Oline and no pass rush.
Also if you go look at Driskel's class, we had 12 4 stars according to 247. We lost 6 of those (Brisett, Leonard, Story, Blakely, McRoy, Saunders). We lost even more if you count the 3 stars we lost. Whenever you lose half a recruiting class, depth will be bad, especially when the high players on our board leave.
But most of those players urban had been recruiting that changed because of coaching change
Will is a better QB...probably the best since Danny in terms of passing...
AZ, I loved last season. It wasn't intended as a slight. But I'm sure Muschamp would agree that a little breathing room on some of those wins would have been nice.
That's quite a statement, I think Jeff will go first round
Don't quite know how anyone can put Wuerffel ahead of either Grossman or Leak as a passer. I loved Wuerffel because he was so intelligent and poised, but I would take the other two over him as pure pocket passers.
I would as passers but no chance as my college under SOS, zero
I'm convinced our offense will be unstoppable with Will G as our QB. I anticipate a NC during his tenure.
Well he will undoubtably be surrounded by better offensive talent, so I cannot argue that
