That's the snag. We all want to see the program heal, and fast. We want Foley to fire and hire within a couple weeks someone that will make our current recruits re-up their commits to us and compel several long-shot top players to commit next day. We want our fans to fear and respect our new coach and know the Gators will be tough again in a season or two, tops. But I'm afraid that's not likely and mostly because the right coach may not be available. I think we see an interim retained from the staff.

Well put. Have you noticed the Dems and the media have stopped calling it Obamacare? Now it's the Affordable Care Act.

    Shouldn't it be "Barryscare?"

    Hard to say about Will.

Will has lost the program. Period.

I don't understand the "who else is out there" comments I have been reading in different threads. I would understand if we were 7-5 and calling for a change. But 4-8 and a loss to Ga Southern? There are MANY coaches out there who can do better. It's just a matter of who.

    Edited to add:

    Bush is to blame.
    Obama is arrogant.
    Romney is rich.
    Christie is fat.
    Pelosi is annoying.
Hillary is going to get booked.

    Will has lost the program.

He can't coach, can't develop players, can't put even an average offense on the field, can't do the one thing he allegedly is good at effectively (coach the defense), and can't win games we're supposed to.

The fans have given up on him and don't want him anymore. If it's a 7-5 type season and this was the reaction, I might say fans need to cool it. But it's the third year and we just got dominated at home to a fcs team. That should never be acceptable at the University of Florida.

Agreed. But, we should hope to hire a guy that's going to be here for a decade and really build the program. We don't need to go to through this again in a few seasons when 8-4 gets old.

What do Obama and Muschamp have in common??? Both are lousy at their jobs, destroying their relative countries, and we can't get rid if them.

Muschamp should get another year. No one in college football has had the injuries like the Gators. The Dawgs come a distant second, and they have 4 losses and counting. They were expected to be a National contender. They did not lose their top-2 QBs.

They also have not lost to a fcs school with *more* injuries than we had.

There is no excusing this. Period. Muschump has been an abject failure this season. A fcs school with less depth came into the Swamp and worked us. We're the laughingstock of the college football landscape. There is literally no explanation for this. None.

We could be good next year and go 5-7 with that schedule.

    Muschamp STINKS. Zook 2.0.

The question in my mind is why have we had so many injuries? Yes, some are just a fluke, but is it possible that our strength and conditioning program needs to improve? Strength and conditioning won't prevent some of the injuries but the huge number makes me think that something else is going on here.

It's hard to fathom, but we might be stuck with him for another year. If so, this will be the dreariest off season in a long time. No enthusiasm, no optimism. Who knows? Maybe with zero expectations, the team will surprise next year. But I feel like we are back in the dark days of Gator football.

On a brighter note, thank goodness for Billy Donovan. At least we have basketball now.

What I don't really understand is what changed between the last two weeks? If we'd squeeked out a win against GSU would anyone have felt any better or worse about the 2013 season? With FSU looming, its not like the season was likely going to end up a winning one. Is there a difference between 4-8 and 5-7?

If the extra loss were to say, Alabama, no. But the extra loss was to Georgia Southern, so there is a difference.

This seems entirely irrational to me. Losing is losing. It seems strange to me that anyone would change their minds from 2-3 weeks ago over this particular loss. Indeed, once we lost to LSU, it wasn't unfathomable to many people that would could lose out the rest of the way given all the various issues with the team. And once we lost to Vandy, most people had written off a bowl trip and winning season.

Vandy also beat depleted UGa and UT squads. As it turns out, there was no shame there.

Losing to an FCS GSU team also missing over a dozen starters just can't happen. GSU lost to the likes of Wofford for pete's sake.

We shouldn't have a qb on scholly that can't successfully pass/lead us to a win over GSU. Period.
