I love humidity. I often eat it for breakfast.
Born there, never been back.
In other news, a student tripped over the curb after the game, and skinned his knee.
The Tucson police with riot gear is like a group of elementary students with new toys. The police look for an excuse to use all their gear because heaven forbid the police gets all dressed up with no one to shoot bean bags at.
And you know what started the riot? A student was accosted when she tried to get into her car. She was innocent but at the wrong place. Fortunately, it was caught on camera, which means the TPD will be settling another lawsuit.
As for Tucson, campus is beautiful. Surrounding city has some great outdoors area including Sabino Canyon and Mount Lemmon where you can drive up nearly 10,000 feet and enjoy cool temperatures in summer and ski in the winter (southern most ski area in USA). But the city center and rest of the town has issues, and the city was hit very hard by the housing crash. And the city government is inept to make any improvements. Part of the reason we left a few years ago. Just no jobs.
What is ironic is Tony Green is known as an official for letting them play...he actually doesn't call many fouls except the obvious stuff as he tends to let things go...so it was strange that he came up with that charge call in that situation as normally from Tony that is a play on with no call.
I agree; if we keep letting our "peace officers" dress up like soldiers, they are going to continue to continue trying to act like soldiers.
This is eye opening:
While I'm sure there were drunk idiots involved as well, I would challenge anyone to find a crime committed by any student there that is 1/10th as bad as what that officer did in that video.
I don't know why, but there's something about the phraseology "hints of riots" in the thread title that tickles me. Like "glimpse of genocide" or "intimation of mayhem."
Well guys, Arizona is truly the Far Wild West, without the gentleness instilled by living near the Pacific Coast (like most of California).
Not surprising that they are acting like fools.
That cop should be immediately fired.
Canada does it too
Well, it was a bad call...
I prefer "murmurs of mayhem"
omens of agitation, rumors of recalcitrance, whispers of wickedness, signs of somnambulism
