Yea, but sounds like a lot of their wins. Team never gives up and finds a way to win in the end. Winning at LSU is a solid win.

Thanks for this thread. I was at the baseball game tonight. Great win. Sounds like we sucked royally, and still managed to pull it out.

Was the ump inconsistent or very tight? Seems like every pitcher for both teams struggled

Actually the pitchers were just all over the place on both sides.

It is not one of Walton's better hitting teams. A lot of holes in the lineup in my opinion. I am surprised he hasn't given Damico or the JUCO transfer Martinez much of a shot to show if they could hit.

My gut says the bats will heat up. They usually do. Walton is the king of gorilla ball. When has his gator teams not been solid at the plate? Thanks again for the PBP!

Not sure Martinez is UF level....she had a nice season at community college last year, but wasn't a player as a freshman at Radford.
Damico is a career .230 hitter and hitless in limited at bats this year. Don't think she is likely either. Great defensive option and can give you some things, but don't see her as a regular in the order.
The emergence of Herndon as a freshman indicates to me that the lineup is settling in and Little may be the key pinch hitter with some power.

The team batting average/slugging % is very comparable to all the past college world series squads (except the 2010 team which posted insane stats). I think the SEC has gotten deeper in talent so may be tougher to put up eye popping stats because you are facing more quality pitching than ever.

I think this has a lot to do with it too. The SEC is getting stronger each year.
