Right now, at least, it looks like Florida and Kentucky are the two best teams, as pretty much everyone expected, but unlike the predictions, perhaps Tennessee is not #3 (although they do play a front loaded schedule, so they may end up being 3rd, but they are somewhat thin - of course, so are the Gators, without Walker and the other guys who can't play).

    So, who thinks Ole Miss?

    Who thinks Tennessee?

Who thinks Georgia (you gotta be kiddin) or Missouri (a possibility)?

Any other prospects that I am missing?

Just curious what your thoughts are.

Probably Mizzou; with Ole Miss, Miss St and Arkansas rounding out the second tier.

Tough question. Put Tenn, OleMiss, LSU, and Ark in a paper bag. Shake it up and pull one team out. The rpi rankings:

    UT - 51
    Mizzou - 54
    OleMiss - 56
    LSU - 63
    Ark - 64

Mizzou's losses to UGA and Vandy are damning, so I left them out.
UT has the best SoS, but lost to NC St and Texas A&M.
LSU has a weak SoS and lost to Rhode Island, UT (at home), and OleMiss (blowout).
Ark has a weak Sos, can't win on the road, and is 2-4 in the SEC.
Ole Miss has a weak SoS, with losses against Mercer and Dayton. But OleMiss is 5-1 in conference and has won four straight, three of them in convincing fashion. I'll go with Ole Miss, but it's really a crap-shoot.

Ole Miss, Mizzou, UT are up there. Arkansas would be if they could ever figure out how to tie their shoes outside of bud walton arena.

Miss SEC record...... beat Aub by 3, lost @ Miss ST., beat LSU by 14 in OT, won @ SCar by 1, won @ V by 11 and beat Miss St by 9.

The SEC has a very large middle but in 6 games Miss has only played the very bottom teams. I'm guessing in their next 7 games prior to playing UF, they lose 4 or 5.

Miss plays at UT Wed. I think UT whacks them. I think UT is the #3 SEC team............currently.

According to Pomeroy, Tennessee is the 3rd best team. They dropped from 23rd to 29th in his rankings are the loss yesterday.

OK, so, as I noted, it is really difficult to say.

The schedules have a lot to do with the current won/loss records, so that was a major reason I really haven't a clue.

I too think that Tennessee may well end up at the number 3, although this weeks game against Ole Miss will be telling (I think they crush Ole Miss inside, but, if Henderson goes nuts, like he did against the Gators last year in the Tournament Championship game, who knows).

Ole Miss is the third best. I know everyone hates Henderson, but the kid wills that team to wins.

Ole miss despite no resume building wins. They have strength inside, and can win any game if Henderson is hot...he may be inconsistent but no one in the src can put up points in a flurry like him and it's impossible to defend because he releases quick and doesn't need to be open anyways. The other players aren't terrible so they are either above average or insanely hard to stop...depending on the fat girl loving coke head

When Henderson is hitting, easily Ole Miss. Otherwise, it really is a crapshoot.

Yeah the SEC is pretty weird this year. It's like no one wants to step up. I thought Tennessee and LSU would be much better, but they have both been up and down. Missouri appeared to have it, but lost to some pretty bad teams. Arkansas probably would be up there if they knew how to play on the road. It was crazy seeing them pretty much play even with us and beat Kentucky at home, but then look so horrible at Georgia and at Texas A&M.

I would say Ole Miss is in 3rd right now, but by season's end, I fully expect Tennessee to be in that position. Their schedule really thins out from here on out(only play Kentucky 1 time this season). The only teams that should give them trouble are Ole Miss and us, everyone else for them are very winnable games.

LSU and UT have much more talent than their season results have shown thus far.
