This is always interesting speculation. . . and will be even more topsy-turvy this season. But let's get the discussion going. . .

    What is your starting lineup?

For the discussion, lets presume all three players... Walker, Carter and Scottie are available to play.

    What say you?

(I know. . . "it doesn't matter who starts". Blah, blah, blah.)

unfortunately, I think we have a better chance of having none of them opening game than having all three.

    I'll go:

    Scottie
    Fraizer
    DFS
    Will
    Patric

Hill and Walker are as talented as any, but I can't see them starting over quality, experienced guys that are returning - at least I can't see this to open the season. If anything, I could see Frazier's spot being somewhat more up for grabs. Both Hill and Carter are good enough to start on the floor at one of the guard spots - but I just have a hard time seeing them starting that quickly over someone who has had a great summer playing with Billy for the US team. Depends on Frazier's defense - which I'm not quite as sold on (yet) as some of you are. I'll still say Frazier though.

I went DFS largely because of the "beast" reports from last year. A lot of national guys seem to be talking him up as well.

    1 to 5:

    Wilbekin-Frazier-Finney Smith-Yeguete-Young.

Obviously you're going to see a lot of shifting around throughout the season. Hill in place of Frazier, Hill in place of Wilbekin, Finney-Smith to the four and Prather to the three, Walker at all three front-court spots, Harris at the five a lot, Carter at the two (assuming he's available), etc.

Frazier's an important piece because he's the best, proven source of long-range shooting. If you slide, say, Prather in at the three in place of Finney-Smith in that lineup I posted earlier, Frazier's really the only consistent three-point shooter there.

Beginning of the season I an with REM08:

    Scottie
    Fraizer
    DFS
    Will
    Patric

Late in the season depends on injuries and CW's eligibility.

This. Scottie should not be the starter until he earns it. I like Prather's energy coming off the bench.

I think Scottie may have blown his starting role.
    I will go with:

    Hill
    Frazier
    DFS
    WY
    Young

Scotty, MF2, DFS, Harris and Young. I think Will, Kasey and Walk first 3 off the bench.

Any number of lineups are possible. I will say:

    PG: Wilbekin
    SG: Frazier
    SF: Finney-Smith
    PF: Harris
    C: Young

The only real question to me is who starts among Harris, Walker and Yeguete at the 4.

Dan Hanner said to me on twitter that Finney-Smith's low field goal percentage at VaTech that Finney-Smith is not one of UF's best five players and that coaches usually start their best 5. He saw UF starting Wilbekin, Hill and Frazier together. I did not try to pin him down on the 4 and 5.

The answer somewhat depends upon when during the season you are talking about.

First game? I expect Hill to start because Scottie's in the doghouse. I think it's likely Scottie takes back the starting role once he's back with the team, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Hill take back the starting job by March.

I also think Walker may eventually take the starting job from WY, but whether and when depends on how soon Walker enrolls.

The other three spots will be Frazier - DFS - P. Young, and I think those don't change, barring injury.
