Florida’s Kevin O’Sullivan was selected as the SEC Coach of the Year and right-hander Logan Shore was named the SEC Freshman of the Year in a vote of the league’s 14 head baseball coaches announced on Tuesday.

Junior catcher Taylor Gushue and Shore were chosen first-team All-SEC, sophomore outfielder Harrison Bader was named second-team All-SEC and the trio of first baseman Peter Alonso, Shore and third baseman John Sternagel collected All-Freshman Team recognition.

Congrats to all. Bader got insanely hot over the last few weeks. Feels like he was hitting .250 a month ago.

Very nice to see Gushue come through with this kind of season. His SEC line ended at .389/.449/.583. That's really strong in this era.

Yea seems like Bader raised his average 75-100 points over the last 3 weeks if that is possible.

    Congrats to all.

I don't know that anyone has done better nationally so I expect Sully to be in the running for national coy as well. He'll likely get nosed out by the head coaches at Louisiana Lafayette and Oregon State, but I expect he'll be in the discussion. He's done a remarkable job with 15 true freshmen on the roster.

I came in wondering if the surprize flop in the regional had put Sully on a bit of a hot seat.

SEC COY w/ 15 Freshman... I guess not.

    Go Gators!
