God bless the people who died and suffered.
PS- STILL ticks me off our government let it happen.
yes. His death. Elvis changed things. Many will never acknowledge his immense talent or his impact on society due to his latter years.
I think he gets his proper due, musically. He did have the misfortune of dying at a time of bloated excess in music in general, and he was a symbol of that to a degree.
Someone is changing what's been typed, both mine and those I'm responding to.
I doubt it. I know mine wasn't changed.
this one is hard to watch-but we need to see it so we do not forget what these scumbags islamic terrorists did
I didn't watch it Bill. No offense I just didn't care to do so again. Two of the images that come to mind when I think about 9/11 is the plane going through the building and the one that really gets me bad is the woman jumping and the picture which caught her on the way down. Not that others are not just as bad or worse, it's that those two for some reason pop into my head the most.
I understand Hall-but so many have no idea of what happened and we should be showing it on a regular basis
No problem, it was just a personal choice.
I'm torn as to how I feel about showing the images of the attack every year. I know we're not supposed to forget, but I'm sure it's now written up in the history books. We remember all the major events in our nations history, and eventually we move on. I remember the ten year anniversary of Kennedy being shot my mom saying "Why won't they let that poor man rest in peace." Do we even possess the capacity to move on? I don't know. I am not sure we learned anything from this atrocity. We were desperate to find scapegoats and hunt the world down until all retribution was served. But we have replaced reason with fear and now think it is the same thing. We are becoming more and more a fascist state with the idea that complete surveillance and 24 hour a day invasion of privacy is the answer to living free. Sorry for the rant.
You've stumbled upon the real reason people should wear the black armbands forever.
^^^no apologies needed. ranting is what THFSG is all about and yours is mild, logical, and well thought out by comparison. I agree with way too much security everywhere now
That's a trick question. Both of those are the same thing.
still pisses me off the POTUS at the time chose not to pursue OBL as the major priority in war against terrorism.
I flew to New York City yesterday and our flight path took us over the Hudson River and the western edge of Mahanttan. Fortunately, I had a window seat on the right side of the plane and got to see the entire island as we flew over. I couldn't help but think that the place looked like it has healed. On the ground, even, there was no overt sense of the day, but rather seemed like a very normal one.
While we must never forget, it is still important to move and and it seems as though NYC has done just that.
I guess that's news to me. Could've sworn my deployment to Afghanistan had something to do with Bin Laden, but such is the fiendish cleverness of the former POTUS, he used his Jedi mind tricks to fool everyone but you. I tip my hat to you, sir.
No kidding rev. One of my lifelong buds has been with the teams for nearly 15 years and HALO jumped into those godforesaken mountains more times than he can count.
