I think our DBs are pretty good, although some of that might be the Dline, but with the injuries to Purifoy and Roberson and the ejection of Poole we are getting a little deep in the depth chart. Hargreaves and Watkins seems to be the logical replacements. What say you regarding the starting 4 and nickel?

Is Poole ineligible next week, too? Are both Purify and Roberson out again?

We don't need Purifoy, Roberson or Poole to beat Kentucky. I'm just hoping Purifoy wasn't seriously hurt. Danielson is absolutely right in that there is no reason for him to be returning kicks.

I'm betting Purifoy has a thigh bruise. He could be available next week depending on the severity. Muschamp said "Roberson would be fine" for Tennessee and on a one-week basis, we've learned that doesn't mean much. But I don't think it's likely he misses two games in a row.

It was a deep thigh bruise? They take time, man. It could take a few weeks if that's the case.

I suspected that when they were icing it. It will still take a few weeks for him to get back into the lineup. They take forever to heal.

For years, whatever Danielson says gets parroted around here. Should we also not have Patton returning kicks since he is a starter? Why did Danielson not bring that up? Or why didn't he mention his concern about Purifoy until after the injury?

I actually agree about the kick off returns...no need for Patton or Purifoy back there...you may as well put Taylor the freshman back there.

Is he a kick returner? Maybe we should just fair catch them. That way, no one gets hurt.

I believe Poole has to miss the the 1st half per NCAA rule.

I've always hated watching guys like Janoris, Purifoy, Roberson, Rainey, etc. returning punts and kicks. I understand they're playmakers but a returner is easier to replace than a starting corner or the centerpiece to your offense.

Correct. New rule is if they are ejected in the first half for targeting then they miss the rest of the game and that is it. If the ejection occurs in the second half then the players misses the first half of the following game.

Yes, a returner is easier to replace, but he can also be harder to find in the first place. Who would you guys suggest we have returning kicks?

And, given all our depth at corner, I suspect that is one of the few positions were replacing a starter isn't all to onerous for us.

    1) Looked like a Very deep thigh bruise from the expression on LP's face and that has got to hurt his ability to stop and cut as DB.

    2) LP should have never taken the ball out being 5 yds in endzone given the 25 is where it will be placed. And yes I would say this every time unless its at the end of the game and you desperately need field position.

    3) I believe Poole will be out for 1st half of next game.

Patton did the same thing. Burton had to maul him on the second one.

There was some conversation as to when the ejection occurs as to when one returns. I was unable to follow the discussion at the time.

If in first half do you get to count the second half of current game and first half of following game? So if in second half, you are sitting entire following game?

We're lucky it was just a bad bruise. Could have been much worse
