One game takes it all? Double elimination just to get to the title game?

Yes one game takes it all. It was also one game elimination in the semis.

I thought that was the case today, didn't know that about the semis.
    Thanks

It's in place during the SEC tournament. UF got run ruled a few years back. If a team is getting destroyed, no need to use up everyone's pitching for garbage time.

UF was single elimination against South Carolina, Mississippi State, and Kentucky. I like our chances today. LSU has been a juggernaut, but UF has been better tested.

UF is back at #1 in the RPI. With a win, UF will likely be the #1 national seed for having won the best conference's regular season and tourney championships.

LSU has a national seed on the line. With a win, LSU will elevate itself from regional host to national seed. I'm sure revenge is on the Tigers agenda as well after being swept in Gainesville.

Both teams have a lot to play for. It should be a great game.

It's amazing to me that after the first couple of weeks that we would even be considered for a national seed let alone a 1 seed. So I tip my hat to Sulley and the players for having an amazing year.

Kendall Rogers of Perfect Game feels this way but I am not convinced. LSU was only 17-12-1 (I think, give or take a game) in conference play. Their Top 25 RPI record is very mediocre. I personally think the SEC might only get 1 national seed but 4 or 5 regional hosts.

We probably locked up the #1 overall seed with yesterday's win; win or lose today I still think we'll be the #1 seed.

Smart move. Glad he didn't let Whitson go too long and struggle.
    Very positive outing for Whitson.

LSU put up 25 runs in the first 7 innings of their first 3 SECT games. Today they've put up 0 runs. Fantastic start by Karsten.

    Even LOFC prolly like
    Karsten went 6
    never saw coming
