Yeah, Michigan State might have the best defense in the country. From what I've seen, it's either us or them and it's not even close after that.

I'm speaking in a more general sense than stats. Show me the #1 D stat-wise and I'm pretty sure I take Florida over it.

So early to tell much of anything from statistics, though I am not sure our offensive lines are going to move appreciably with Murphy and the schedule we have coming in October and early November. We need to run better, though. That is an absolute must for our game plan.

Thank God for that #1TOP. In all seriousness, while it is a overrated stat it does help our defense out. Not that they need it though.

We need more consistent production in the run game, but realistically, while our numbers on offense don't look good, we are shortening games and doubling up our opponents' offensive production.

If we can take care of the football, and be as efficient in the RZ as we were against the Vols, we'll be hard to beat. Although I know we shouldn't expect that efficiency as the schedule gets tougher.

Things are looking up on the offensive side with TM.. TOP really means very little unless you can score.

Not great O stats considering we have played 3 average to poor defenses. We are not even in the middle of the pack. Taking the positive road I think this will be addressed with recruiting.

A close look at TOP is a big reason why our defensive stats are phenomenal. Turnovers, not production, have been the problem this year. We are averaging about 400 yards of offense a game and dominating TOP. Don't turn the ball over and one wins games.

Not just turnovers, but ill-placed ones at that. Four have come in the redzone and another two (I believe) in our own redzone, not to mention pick six.

this is the best defense in the country. remember last year, fsu was the overall number 1 defense by the numbers, because of strength of schedule. i can't respect that michigan state in the best D in america because of their conference and competition week in and out. no matter who the gators play, their level of great defense does not seem to change(except when you play meaningless bowl games against louisville). you won't find a better D this year than the one that plays in the swamp!
