Amazing depth when Bama and A&M are seeded 8th and 9th

It is a tuneup for the CWS. The bracket for the baseball/softball world series is the most brutal in the NCAA.

Will be interesting to see how these teams use their pitching staffs, since a few of these teams only have one stud pitcher and most of these teams are just playing for seeding in the NCAAs. Also, I see Ga and LSU get to continue this past weekend's series in their opening games.

Thanks, Gboro, but I'm sorry I looked at the bracket. Tough!

And 2x, as you are well aware, in a one and done tourney or in a short series, one stud pitcher can carry a team a long way. Remember USF last season?

if the ncaa were to be seeded right now - what would our likely seed be?

Yea, no doubt, but I was actually wondering if teams like Mizzou would try to ride their ace all the way to the SEC title or rest her for the ncaas as they seemed to be doing this past weekend against UT. Softball pitching isn't like baseball, but still.

It's weird, because I can remember not too long ago(4-5 years ago) where every team rode one pitcher for the entire season and probably threw out their 2nd pitcher in the mid-week games against a directional school. Now you have schools with actual bullpens. lol

Wow, looking at that bracket, we might have been in better shape being the #2 seed.

It might not be the worst thing in the world for UF to lose early and get home and rest up. A hosting position is certainly locked up, so it is just jockeying for a spot up or down in seeding now....and that may not matter in the long run, as we can see from this tourney draw.
Haeger has been very inconsistent on the mound and it is going to have to be Rogers that gets UF thru to the CWS. She hasn't thrown huge numbers of innings yet, but the farther UF goes the heavier her work load.

No thanks. Give me a trophy any day over a possible seed advantage in a one and done tournament that means very little at the end of the day. We will be the #2 or #3 overall seed in the NCAA tournament regardless of what happens this week.
