These SEC predictions are beginning to all run together, this one is from RushTheCourt.net. I don't think this one has been posted here yet. Here is the UF bit, though I wonder who this Chester Frazier guy is:

Hilarious. I am going to refer to Frazier as Chester the rest of the year.

I'm trying to figure out how you even get "Chester Frazier" out of "Michael Frazier." I mean, make fun of Verne all you want for "Cliff Richards," at least the thought process there makes sense.

Chester Frazier played basketball at Illinois ('09 grad). The author appears to be from Chicago so he could be an Illinois fan.

Moreover, our optimistic prediction is the final four? aka winning one more game than our expectation?

With so many new players replacing departed veterans, I have no idea how good this team will be. So many unknowns. But there is a lot of potential on this team. Hopefully they mesh well. Go Gators.

Let's just get to some games - and let out Gators get to work in the SEC

    Go Gators

I'm sure we will play hard again this season.

Top three scorers have departed. Who will carry the scoring load--or will we become a team that tries to win based on giving up nothing near the basket?

This is a team coached by Billy Donovan, not Muschamp. There will be offense.

That said, those three scorers were all three point shooters as well, so it will be interesting to how Donovan tries to employ his favorite offensive weapon. Carter's waiver may turn out to be pretty important for his three point shooting.

Funny, but Donovan compared that rationale to the 2005-06 team the other day. Believe me, losing Roberson, Walsh, and Lee was much more problematic than losing Boynton, Murphy, and Rosario. Young has been a double-digit scorer for two years now, Frazier was a great shooter a season ago, Wilbekin had 9+ points a season despite being forced to play on the ball as a distributor and thus looking to create for others, we get one of the most dynamic playmakers in the class on campus in Hill, and we add two very effective shot creator in Finney-Smith and Carter via transfer.

Believe me, this team won't lack for points. We won't be a dominant shooting team, but our ability to get out in transition, share the ball in the halfcourt, and finish at the rim will be as good as any team we've had at Florida, including the tittle teams. The big issues will be floor spacing and perimeter shooting, which could limit our offensive upside, not our baseline.

Exactly. And for better or for worse, Prather is committed to being a one-on-one scoring machine.

I had to actually sign up (instead of lurking) just to respond to this.

Nice reference! (I guess I'm old)

It's pretty much common knowledge that Chester is short for Mike

Chester is what they call him with mono. Once he's healthy, he'll be Mike again.

Welcome to GC and NBN. Basketball threads will start next week when regular season begins.

And there are quite a few around here that can relate to the reference I made.

    That is hilarious.

Would be nice if those predictions prove true.
