The voters dropped tOSU as well....just sayin'
At least they got passed up by a team that won... why is UGA ranked higher than us after they lost? That's just biased as you can get.
No worries, Rick. I have a feeling we will be sending the buttsniffers to the kennel this year. Their porous D will neuter any chance they have of getting to Atlanta.
I agree, but it's still a slap in the face that we don't deserve.
Sometimes a slap in the face can be a good thing for us.
Louisville losing spots after a win would be news because they do not have the schedule that will allow them to climb teams as well.
SEC teams can get back in the picture with one or two losses (LSU) much more easily. Being number 12 is no big deal as we will face the teams to climb. Remember the LSU win last year had the pollsters having to give a non sexy teams its due.
Win this week, win next week; then repeat.
I have every confidence that the SECC will get the respect they deserve.
Now that UGA's virtue has been compromised it would be nice if USCe, LSU, FSU, and Bama remain pristine until the fateful week.
If the Champsters win 3 or 4 against top 5-10 teams two years in a row, the punditry will have to take notice whether they like it or not.
Sooner or later they will have to take notice of Champ's rhetoric also. "Coach, how does it feel to have 5 or 6 starters missing?". "That's why we recruit. We have a deep roster, and I am happy for the young fellows who will get a chance to play". "Coach how do you feel about the schedule that requires that you play the top two teams in the west?" "We will play anybody any time, any where. We will play in the parking lot. It is a great opportunity." Just beautiful, anyway you cut it.
Who gives a rats hat it's 1 week into the season. Take care of business and I don't care what happens no one can hold this team back from the prize but them self
That's not true. So far off, you missed the solar system. If that's the case, why did Alabama retain #1 and keeping all of their #1 ballots? Despite being outgained by VT too and getting just 205 yards of offense. How boring that game must have been.
Toledo does not have one player that could start on offense or defense or be in the 2 deep at Florida. UF dominated on Defense, but looked average, at best, on offense vs inferior talent. Although the polls mean nothing at this point, it is farly easy to see why nobdy is very impressed after one game.
Although Bama's O struggled, comparing Bama offensive performance to UF is apples to oranges. VT returned 9 guys on a top 20 D. They are a great D and have kids who can play at UF. Toledo retruned one guy on a D that was 113 in passing and 108 in total D. VT has legit Div 1 talent. Toledo has none.
ALL BS aside, the UF kids should have been able to dominate the Toled kids and didn't.
I disagree, I think the UF offense was pretty dominant. Over 400 yards of offense and we had a back get 100 yards by halftime. I wasn't enthused with the style but we had multiple long drives. They certainly didn't stop us often.
Ok now I understand. In your post you said the BCS poll which I didn't think was out after the first week.
Both FSU and LSU had better wins than we did, so they jumped us. If I had been voting I probably would have done the same thing.
I don't understand why it matters. If we beat both teams we will jump them, if not then we deserved to be jumped.
in the sec, there are no worries---win the conference and play for the BCS title, or lose 1 game early, not make the SEC title game and still play for the crystal (alabama in 2011)
What? Is this for real? 'bama is stacked and they won by a bunch of points. That is why they are still number one. Georgia losing doesn't rate a higher ranking any more than the Gators losing would raise out ranking.
