This is probably way-oversimplifying it, but my guess is that the coaches figure if they get a couple BUCK prospects each year, the ones that are athletic enough but end up too small can transition to SAM or WILL, and the ones that are big enough but a bit lacking in athleticism can transition to DE.

That's your opinion, which It really doesn't matter how u feel about it since ur not handing out offers for any team to anybody.

I wasn't trying to give you a hard time just making fun of the increasingly used paradox "uncommitable offer". It's not important obviously.

The whole thing is kind of stupid but these are just "verbal offers" anyways. One thing I give Saban is most of the times up front about it. He tells kids you have an offer but you have to come to camp first. The sad part is if you go to camp and he doesn't like you they just stop answering your calls. All schools do it though.

ILB Zach Whitley to Bama they beat out Texas A & M for a Houston kid. A & M is not happy. This could be good for Florida because it takes up another LB spot up for Bama and we were never in the race for Whitley's services.

Whitley committed to Saban while they were Skyping.

Agree 100%, recruiting needs to come up with a new way to talk.

As you pointed out, the words "uncommitable" and "offer" are mutually exclusive.

Why not call it an "almost offer," that would at least be a little closer to reality.

Also, the word "commitment" should be taken out of recruiting-speak altogether; in 2013, when a HS player gives a school a "commitment," it really only basically means your school is first among equals. Nothing more.

ILB Tre Williams is committing Wednesday and not to UF. A lot of middle linebackers are going off the board in the SEC.

Tre Williams was high on our board so not good. The state of Alabama is loaded with LB's this year.

He'll end up at OSU. Probably not a coincidence that UF got dropped right after Young left, but he's been looking like a Buckeye for a while now.

Except for Sharpe, our OL board looks kind of sparse. Hoping our current commits are better than they're rankings.

Florida was really out of it before Young left he said he was going to visit for the spring game but never did it. I am pretty sure Davis was his main recruiter anyways.

    OL board is fine

TE/H-Back KC Crosby finalist are Alabama, Clemson, UNC, Gamecocks. He was another Gator target that we just never got on campus. Expect him him to pick South Carolina

It's going to be a tough sell to LBs after the haul we had for '13. Glad we got one very good one on board.

I think we only need 3 which we should get. The problem is all the LB's are in SEC west territory this year . We should have offered Jacob Pugh earlier. Dwight Williams from Cali would be a nice pick up as an OLB despite his size. He can cover and would make it so we dont have to go Dime.

What about Clifton Garrett and/or Nyles Morgan? Wouldn't be surprised if both ended up in the SEC. Garrett already looks like an LSU lean, but if we get these kids on campus and let Antonio Morrison host them, we might have a shot at one of them. Durkin is working both of them. That's not a bad thing.

No info but I just dont think we have a realistic shot at Morgan. Garrett might be an LSU lean but like you said lets get him on campus and see what happens. In recruitng some people are sprinters and some people are marathon runners. Urban is a sprinter if it is a two week fight for a kid he is going to win. DJ Durkin is a marathon runner. DJ is just really consistent and persistent for a long period of time. That is why I think if we get Garrett on campus this summer we have a shot.
