not a rival but Juwann Bushell-Beatty committed to Michigan he was a OL target of ours. His commitment also probably ends any small chance Florida had at Jabril Peppers

Orlando Brown weighed 450 pounds as an 8th grader. Today, on his 17th birthday he's 345 he committed to UT. He looked pretty bad in the Junior film I saw but he has lost weight since then.

I hear this said sometimes but I do not understand the concept. What is an "uncommitable offer"? At face value it seems like a contradiction in terms. What would the point be of a school offering a scholarship to a player that they weren't ready to accept a commitment from? Please elaborate.

Florida does it all the time. A huge amount of Bama's offer are uncommitable. It just says we like you but not enough to commit to you. It just show a kid you have interest and many times it is used to get a kid to come to camp.

Yea, it happens. But to say that many of the offers to this kid probably weren't committable is just laughable. This kid was highly recruited by just about every school. Non committable offers are extended to lower talent recruits as a back up plan if a higher touted recruit goes elsewhere. You don't send an offer to a kid that has 40+ unless you mean it.

Sorry, I didn't mean to turn this informative thread into a debate.

He wasnt highly recruited by every school. You think Bama Florida and UGA were blowing up his phone but he had top 10's and top 5's without them on the list? He had non committable offers to those schools. You like him be happy but he couldnt call up the elite SEC schools and commit.

Okay, so then these are not really offers at all but rather expressions of interest by a school toward a player. By definition an offer is something presented by one party for acceptance by another party. The term uncommittable offer makes no sense.

That is true. I was mainly pointing out to GATORAZ how wrong he was for saying that because he didn't have certain schools in his top 5 or 10 he must have never had committable offers from those schools.

Then I immediately find a video from less than 2 months ago where he states his top 7 and then a few schools on the outside looking in, and what do you know, those certain schools GATORAZ was speaking of were in there.

Yep and he couldn't call up Alabama and commit period. Go to a Bama board and ask could Orlando Brown jr commit to them. It is hilarious for you to think he could.

    Have you seen his film?

    Nope. This is hilarious:

I don't understand why you are quite so aggressive or condescending in defending your viewpoint.

Everyone around here knows you cover the boards well and have some good knowledge but occasionally, as you have done here, you come over unneccessarily righteous with your opinion. Unless I'm mistaken, while you research a heck of a lot via the internet (that is evident), I'm not aware that you have any specific or special ties to the actual process or an insider element, am I right?

Either way, it's not needed and spoils some of your otherwise very valuable input to the boards, IMO. Might be worth considering but it depends how you deem what I'm saying...

FWIW, I think Brown looks like a reasonable commitment. He certainly has the pedigree/blood lines and Tennessee is going to need bodies on the OL. Seems like a good deal if he wants to get an opportunity to play early...

In my opinion, I think an uncommitable offer just means a team likes a few more players at said player's position and would like to see where the higher options go first before actually putting on the full court press. I can assure u brown had an uncommitable offer, yet I will say we may have went after him later

Lol. "Uncommitable offer". It is not possible to reconcile the definition of the word "offer" from something that has been presented for either acceptance or rejection. If something can't be accepted then it hasn't been offered. Sorry to play Mr. Linguistics here but I'm sure that I'm not the only person who sees what a stupid term that is. Only in the upside down world of collegiate athletics recruiting would it exist. Saban probably came up with it to explain why 60 players in 12 states are reporting offers from Alabama.
