CB Kendarius Webster committed to Ole Miss
Well from the sound of things, and from what I was told, the rumors about J.C. aren't even close to true. He is as solid as he was when he committed.
AZ do you see us getting any commits any time soon or do all our remaining targets commit around signing day?
AZ said the other day that TE deandre goolsby will be committing sometime this week
Friday noon, arky, Oklahoma, uf battle
we will get commits before singing day. When that will happen IDK. This should be a small class though and some of our major targets are saying they will wait until signing day
. Raz off the top of your head, how many scholarship football players do we have now?
IDK I presume we are full or close to it we gave two walk ons scholarships for the year
That's what I was thinking, other than possibly friday, it might be awhile until we get another.
Oklahoma just took another TE commitment so it looks like Arky. Eve though I am sure Oklahoma would take Goolsby as well.
Maybe I'm wrong but I meant to count how many players we have left from 2009/2010/2013 and believe their are 4 from 2009 and 12ish from 2010/2011 combined. If my count was close how can we be so limited on ships? We have maybe 20 players from left from those three classes.
Re 2012's 22 commits, 3 are no longer here, one JUCO(gone after this year), and 5 who, imo, are probably never going to see the field if staff is going to land only SEC caliber prospects class to class.
Regarding walk ons, I know that's a nice thing to do(giving ships), and every program does it, but since nobody on the team is making plays did we have extra ships to give away?
Staff clearly doesn't have boards wide and deep enough to land a full class without reaches but I think if we're about full then staff is(hopefully?) regretting some of their roster/recruiting decisions because it doesn't look right to me.
Walk on scholarships are usually only for one year.
The staff board was fine last year if you want to talk about the board and name names which I know you cant then we can discuss it. Especially when kids are making decisions on NSD. They actually had a really good plan for scholarships last year having Johnny Townsend and Trevon Young on stand by
We had one kid kicked off the team after NSD and another didnt qualify. There goes your two walk on scholarships.
It is pretty normal that a team has a few walk on scholarships to give out in a year. Especially when you are like UF and dont over-sign. They last for 1 year no big deal.
Excuse me? You have yet to dispute my math and that alone speaks for itself.
Why do we share knowledge and opinions on this board?
Certainly not to discredit embarrass or establish values for ones personal enjoyment!
NO ONE WINS A ARGUMENT!
We signed like 30 commits last class with one last minute flip by the flipper that's paying dividends already: Johnny effen townsend
Anyone who thinks we are being out-recruited by FSU, do yourself a favor and go look at Rivals top 250. Even though stars don't mean everything, they aren't getting top talent. We are.
It's what you put on the field after recruiting classes that matter. fsu's 10,11, and 12 class must really be working out for them. I don't care enough about fsu to look it up but I imagine they retained a fair amount from those classes and 12 was exceptionally stacked(8 top 100). That's what's making the difference for them now and it will last another couple seasons. Their 13 class has some great talent but only 22 players and imo 6 of them will never likely play at a high level. Nothing wrong with their 2014 class so far but I see 6 "reaches" and 3 soft verbals. If they closed with this class minus the soft verbals it would be solid but not scary. 13 did not have a QB. 14 does- and highly rated- but here is what Scout lists as his weaknesses:
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT
Accuracy / Consistency
Hope he doesn't work all that out.
I count 10 verbals to FSU in the ESPNU top 250. 8 for UF.
Both teams have 8 verbals in the Rivals 250.
Not sure how you say FSU isn't getting top talent, off that comparison.
Look at the top 100. Not sure FSU has anyone in it.
