Bama's QB situation is a mess next year. Blake Sims is a JR.. The rest are all Freshman this year.
Should be interesting how that works out.

It might not be if Coker transfers from FSU to 'Bama. Coker will graduate sometime between now and July. He is from Alabama and I wouldn't be surprised to see Saban take him. I don't know how different 'Bama's offense is from Fisher's but Saban know Fisher's system and his QB coaching abilities so Coker would not be a total unknown coming in as a redshirt junior.

That's great and all, but he'll have to sit out next year. The graduate and transfer loophole is closed, isn't it?

I think the SEC made it much harder by requiring two years of eligibility left. Oyf the Nole is correct, he would only be a RS Junior and have two years left.

I don't believe so. Clint Trickett graduated FSU last spring and was started at WVU this year. I had not heard you had to have two years left in the SEC though.

I stand corrected. I thought you had to sit out anywhere you went outside of a hardship waiver.

Figured they just felt sorry for trickett.

I think the rule is that you can go to any school after you have graduated as long as they offer a grad program that your old school does not. I'm sure 'Bama has one or will if Saban decides he wants Coker.

Texas doesn't need Coker. That's where saban will be next year. Way too much going on to just be a rumor.

He's not leaving Bama for Texas. Wouldn't make any sense. He's golden and his teams are winning.

I'm guessing it will work out just fine. Remember how McCarron was supposed to be a question mark too - that seemed to work out just fine.

Not going to happen. Those rumors are Texas PR to make the job seem more desirable than it is. If Saban is going anywhere, it is the NFL. Either that or maybe he wants a major challenge and will try to go coach the New York Rangers to a Stanley cup.

Not to sound like I had Thankgiving Dinner at Saban house, but the conventional wisedom IS that Coker is gone and it is most likely to 'Bama.

Personally, I think Auburn is also a possiblity. Craig is now the OC and QB coach and he is the one who recruited Coker and you'd have to assume the systems are similar.

Do any of you know who our two silent commits were during the Arkansas weekend?

Dewayne Hendrix commits to Tennessee. 4* DE #114 nationally according to Rivals. From O'Fallon, IL.

Just need Malone and two more JUCO DT's and this class will be exactly what we need. I think Hendrix will be the best rush end we have had since Shaun Ellis. He is way too low in some of these rankings.

Hotly debated topic on VolNation.... Do you think we take the Berry twins? Numbers say no to me...

Eric is being honored at the Auburn game in two weeks. Just a hunch but they are probably waiting until then to commit. We are getting into a numbers crunch and there will need to be some grey shirts (Dews and Moseley).
