Danny Manning having lost nearly every recruit that had committed to WF got Scottie's brother to change his commit from Tulsa where Danny the coach just left. Wake Forest is starting all over again in basketball.
    Good luck Mitchell.

They have zero commits in their 2015 class. How much time left to fill it? Have they had significant attrition from their roster as well?

No excuse for the program declining like it has.

Dieagator, Wake Forest has a lot of players returning, the bad news is they played and lost as many as they won. They lost A. Moto a 6'6" wing/forward who Florida had recruited to transfer. Wilbekin should play some minutes and 6" 7" George Clinton, a red shirt freshman should help them, he. Was highly recruited up here. Devon Thomas 6'9" forward is there best player and they have a seven footer who is going to take a sophomore jump. They will have a team that is competitive but will stumble in the ACC. If Coach Danny Manning can get them to buy in they could be better than last year, of course injuries and lack of quality depth is a concern.

Wake is an excellent environment in which to be a student, far better than Tulsa.

He claims to be a better offensive player than Scotty. I hope he has good luck there.

Wake is a nice car being driven by a blind man.
Im not referring to Manning, but the guys calling the shots at wake have tripped all over themselves.

They are in a big city, nice building, good fanbase, decent history. You can win at Wake. They are the only team up here, that I will openly root for.

When they hired a friend, Buzdelik if the AD Wellman, it all started going downhill. Dino Guadio had them winning at least 23 hames a year, the new coach never got more than 17. Manning has some work to do. I always think back to his rcruitment, his father was hired as an assistant coach, nice move by Kansas! pay the father! I think cam knows this one well.

Have totally lost track of the program, but it's an excellent school. My niece is graduating next weekend. She and her parents got to enjoy a few sweet football wins against the holes while she was there.

FSU was down and Wake Forest had a pretty good team when they beat them three times in a row. Right now Wake Forest is in a hole with new coaches in football and basketball. They will have a tough time in the new ACC. Wake Forest is a great Academic institution and Winston-Salem is one of the nice places to live in North Carolina. W-S has a film school and Winston-Salem State another college along the lines of FAMU. IMG Sports headquarters for collegiate sports is downtown. They do all the handling of TV and Radio contracts for most of Div. One. The arts are big in W-S with art festivals, a film festival that runs two weeks and live music for all tastes. Ziggy's bar holds around 1000 people and has touring acts playing weekly. JJ G Rey and Mofro were here from the Jacksonville flea area, was a good time. The beaches are a little too far for my taste 4 and a half hrs but great beaches, the mts are close, a half hour and only a little over an hour to Boone, North Carolina. having been to Charlotte, Raliegh, Wilminton, Greensboro, Winston-Salem has a better way of life and less traffic. I am sure your daughter liked WF and now has a highly rated diploma. Good luck to her.

The film program includes most of the staff from our UF Documentary Institute, that was shut down a few years ago. Our program was a 2-year MA program, but Wake let the graduates come up and do one additional year and gave them MFA's, which is a higher degree.

Question--I've never been to Winton-Salem, but someone I knew years ago was from there said the whole city smelled of tobacco from the cigarette factories. Is that still the case?

Everyone who comes here currently is surprised at the city's beauty and fourth street, trade street. Mini Brewers, good restaurants, good music, coffees shops, minor league baseball in a nearly new stadium downtown. No cigarette smell anymore, the factories are in small towns only the headquarters here. Currently they are preparing land for an amphitheater between Greensboro and Winston Salem, about fifteen miles from Winston. Greensboro's coliseum holds about 20 thousand so the large concerts are here, thirty miles. Joel Coliseum where wake Forest plays holds 15 thousand, which has an occasional concert. The county of Forsyth, NC has about 250 thousand people, the triad area which is high pt, Winston Salem and Greensboro has a population of about 1.1 Million total population.
