Is Scarlett's agent okay with him coming back?
Hopefully his agent told him to come back.
For that to happen we need the O-line to be better than they've been in the last 5-6 years
Dude, that is just hilarious!
I'm happy to hear that Scarlett and some of the others will return. Good for them. Like others have suggested, I will believe in Scarlett's ability to bounce back when I see it. My $ is on Perine to start game one.
I think you will be right for the wrong reason. To me Scarlett is the best back and should come back motivated to prove it. However, I doubt he starts game 1 due to his past issues. Coach will make him wait.
I agree with you he may be our best back. Hopefully he can put the past behind him, stay out of trouble, and be a productive head of the UF RB Hydra!
While the current staff is aware of the situation, they will not hold it against him as much as the previous staff would have. It was a betrayal to the old staff, a poor choice that he lost a year of playing time for to the new staff. Mullen will put the best player on the field, there is no relationship history for there to be prejudicial treatment. Past is Mac, Future is Mullen!
Oh, I don't doubt that Perine might get the start to default. But remember also that Scarlett has not played in a year and will need time to get ready to play. I'm considering both of those factors when I suggest that Perine will start the first game.
I have an easy solution for you. All you have to do is get a circle tatted around it with a line through it. You would go from traitor/closet dog fan to Super Gator just like that.
I think AB (allowed back) is what most other teams have been using. You know, the back that is allowed to cross the goal line.
I think that whoever is the most consistent in Spring ball and later in the summer/fall practices will most likely be the starter at running back.
aren't the remaining returnees still subject to some type of university conduct review which could keep them out for one or more games?
They have already been suspended for full year of football games. Do not think they will be suspended further. Most significant punishment you can provide a player to be suspended from all football activities for an entire season. No working out, practicing, eating, playing in games for an entire season is serious suspension.
I totally agree. The punishment has already been served. However, it is possible that @oneatatime is stating that the university conduct hearings may not take place until after the start of the 2018 season. But I would have to think that is unlikely.
Well, I could certainly see these guys dismissed from the school for this. But I think they must have a feel for the punishment.
You know Mullen has pushed hard on the issue.
pushed hard to keep them?
DAvis and Lemons should not be forgotten.
