I have a Samsung UN55D8000YFXZA set. I tried installing the latest update(via the internet) several weeks ago but it failed. The tv works but most of the functions of my remote don't work. Only the volume & channel functions work.

Even the Samsung Blu-Ray player can't communicate w\ the tv.

Is there a way of reverting back to the previous update?

    Thanks...

I guess the better question is, How do I undo the update?

The first thing I would suggest is to contact Samsung. If you haven't tried tht then I suggest going that route. I have no pe4sonal experience but their reputation for customer service is good.

This is one on line site for getting Samsung help.

So how's your set? Did the tech guys from Samsung pretty reliable?

They sent out a tech from Lakes Electronice(Folkston, GA).

    He did a phenominal job.

Not only did he fixed the main problem(replaced a PCB that was fried by the firmware update). He programmed my tv so now every conceivable function works as do all my external devices.

He tuned up the tv so it has a much better picture & sound. He even cleaned the screen.

If anyone is in the market for a LED/LCD TV, I'd put Samsung at the top of the list.

As far as Plasmas, I'm not sure how the Samsungs are.

I gave my Panasonic Plasma to my ex-wife #2.
