Winston at uf would hand it off a lot, you know ground and pound. Difference between uf and sow is we aim for TOP, sow aims for scores.

As someone noted above, since he's been at the helm our team is 11-3 having played a very different schedule.

If Burton and/or Dunbar don't run the wrong route we aren't having this discussion.

    +1

We are still waiting for Driskel to live up to his hype. Ball control offense or not, a legit QB should be able to make throws and plays. If he plays poorly against Tennessee this year then it pretty much means that is the JD we will get for the rest of the season. There is no reason an Junior with a full season+ of experience should be playing like a true freshmen.

Hopefully he steps up and rises from his putrid Miami game.

Really? I think the Driskell avatar is clouding your judgement.

Good thing Fisher didn't start JW last year. They would have played the Irish for the NC -- and won.

So far, Driskel has thrown the ball 55 times in two games. Winston has thrown it 45 times in two games. I wouldn't be surprised if they both end the season with similar passing attempt numbers.

I'm beginning to think GatorDad is Fred Taylor. Almost all of his posts are bitching about freshmen not playing, first and foremost Kelvin Taylor.

I'm not even sure what this thread is in reference to. Do we have some sort of super QB sitting on the bench that only the OP knows about or something??

Don't give F$U too much credit for beating Nevada......my nephews HS team could take them! JD just needs to play QB within his skill set, which is NOT a drop back QB.

Spot on - he's the best we have and he had a bad game. I'm hoping he learned from it.

TOP gives you more opportunities to throw those under ten yard passes that contribute to TOP. Let's see, how many points is sow averaging and how many are we averaging?

Don't give it any thought. That is the invariable response to anyone who doesn't toe the Party Line. Nothing wrong with pointed questions. Doesn't make you a troll or an FSU mole. It's silly.

Why are so many of you offended about a simple comparison. I never said Driskel should be replaced, clearly we don't have anyone that can run this offense better, or at least that player hasn't had the chance to show it in a game. My point continues to be go with youth where ever we can if it's more talented than current starters. No one on this board can convince me that Clay Burton is our best tight end, no way. Nor will I be convinced Patton and Dunbar should get the bulk of snaps at wr, or Jones/Brown and some walk on should get all the rb snaps. I will not delude myself with this trust the coaches mantra on the offensive side of the ball. After watching the offense the last 2 years and 2 games into a third, only a blind person would trust the coaches.

I'm not offended, I just think its dumb that you assume that you, who likely haven't seen a single practice, are somehow able to conclude which players are better than others, at a far better clip than our coaches can, who have seen literally hundreds of practice and tape hours of each and every player.

So I'm not saying trust the coaches. I'm saying trust common sense.

It doesn't matter who our QB is. Our O philosophy is not to score every time we get the ball . It is to control the clock and score only when we have to.

Watching A&M & UGA, they think they will score every single possession. They are not card counters, hoping to out last teams. They believe they will knock you out.

Because we don't think this way, when things don't go our way (5 turnovers) we don't know what to do. This team showed they are capable of scoring and moving the ball, but they don't practice and plan to score 50 every game. We won't be great till we do.
