I don't see the words "has signed" no do I see any fresh (Friday p.m.) quotes from Saban. That says to me that it's not over. Sounds like Bama might be using Kirk to blunt to news coming out of Ft. Worth...

That means our coach could still be in play.

Ah ha! . Now this means he surely is leaving... Saban only leaves when he's certain he won't. Makes perfect sense now:)

    Saban can't leave FineBum.

The thing about Bama as they can win titles. Texas has cash and has a much larger talent base but for some reason, the Bama boys just play better ball and have for decades. Winning has its own set of perks.

Well due to bama ' s success a lot of their top talent are not "bama" boys. See de'shawn hand (VA) and Ricky Town (5* qb '15 from cali) so he will still gets Texas guys too. Saban truly eats greedy :)

This has always been the case...even under CPB. The state of Alabama does have elite talent and some very underrated talents as well...just not enough. Alabama has always recruited regionally and nationally for a long time. Saban doing it is nothing new.

He has no shot. Texas alumni are paying good money to keep him off their extremely long list.

I would be eternally angry at Texas if they took our coach. He's ours by gummit!

Not all, but many due come from the state of Alabama. Here's who made the Coaches All SEC team:

McCarron - 2nd team offense and Maxwell Award winner and Heisman candidate
CJ Mosley - Defensive Player of the Year
Christion Jones - 1st team Specialist
TJ Yeldon - 1st team All SEC

Of the other spots on the list, there were others from around Alabama like MS, FL, and LA.

Oh I agree, bo Scarborough and Marlon Humphries (if he signs) are 2 more examples of in state talent. But they will always have a shot at in state guys. But it's the nattys and Saban coaching prestige that has recently started luring top recruits from all over the nation. I'm sure 5* qb Ricky towns wouldn't consider leaving Ventura, CA for the sticks of Tuscaloosa if they weren't dominating cfb. My family(dad's side) is from Birmingham, it's OK but not a lot there outside of football and nascar.

Winning fixes a lot of stuff.

ESPN just posted "breaking news" that Mack Brown has told his team he will resign after coaching the Alamo Bowl. Maybe the Saban to Texas saga isn't over yet.
