I hate when people only point to ONE play and discount the rest of the game. The game was tied, Auburn may very well have won the game in overtime even without the FG return. AU had 296 yards rushing....296...and they were 8-15 on 3rd down conversion. It was a great game in which either team could have won but why diminish the fact that AU played a very good game by calling the win a fluke?

To Saban a change in philosophy requires additional lizard tails and the souls of those who oppose him added to his cauldron. Its more of a spell change than a philosophical one.

Did he "figure out" Urbans...or did Percy, Tim, AHern etc go to the NFL?
    Stuff is cyclical.

Sometimes it's just a case of auto Bama erection syndrome. The only way they can be beaten is if they they let the other team win or direct intervention by the very hand of God.

Like good CEO's, you adjust. Bama may have only lost two games last year, but he sees a difference that he is appropriately responding to. IF you do it only when everyone else sees it, you are too late.

Saban is changing from the biggest liar for Bama into second place behind Kiffen.

Still way less than the number of threads saying Champ worships at the TOP altar and has no interest in scoring points.

This is no different than when Spurrier came to Florida and completely changed the league with his high-flying offense. At the time, the league was a power league and the only way they could compete was to change their offenses to match ours. That time it was about the offenses changing, today, it's about the defenses. I wonder what happens if we are the only power offense left in the league. Would that be an advantage?

Let's all stop calling it a spread offense and just call it, whatever spread version it may be, a shotgun offense. Makes more sense these days as many NFL fans don't want to admit their team's offense more closely resembles a "spread."

Too many athletic QB's that can throw really well.. get one.
