And yet, despite this great American History teaching back in the day, a radio disc jockey with no background in history or any expertise is able to teach you more about this event by writing a children's book? Maybe they didn't teach history all that well.

Yeah, writing a children's book doesnt seem the ideal way to set the record straight. Ok, kids, Thanksgiving wasnt about the Indians sharing food with the pilgrims and everyone getting along, it was really about the triumph of privatization over communal farming." I'm sure the kids will be riveted by that. But I tend to agree that public schools arent really a good place to learn history, its presented in the most dry and sterile fashion as possible. You've really got to go to college to learn anything really interesting.

Eh, he's just about captured the entire market of adults impressionable and unquestioning enough to listen to him already, figures preschoolers are the next closest thing available and might represent a good expansion opportunity.

Seems to be a lot of hidden jealousy over the fact the libs know this book will do well---and knowing also that an equivalent lib history book would flop, just like all their other attempts at radio, tv, etc. You name it--if it is lib attempt it flops like nothing else.

Jealousy....an amusing thing indeed when libs get bitten with it. Just gnaws at them deep inside. They can't stand it.:laugh::laugh:

Eh, Rush is late to the game. Every celebrity has written a kids book. There's also plenty of liberal kids books, probably geared toward liberals with kids. But the implication here is pretty bizarre, considering the tacit notion is that the history taught in schools has a "liberal" bias and you need books like this to tell people the "real" story. If all those liberal books had "failed" there would be no need to correct the record, right?

I thought Limbaugh had lost some of his mojo, but from this thread it appears that he still makes liberal blood boil.

    Predictions:

    1. The book will have a patriotic, Mom-and-apple pie slant on U.S. history, but will be otherwise uncontroversial.

    2. Sales will be huge (Xmas is coming).

    3. Liberal heads will explode due to #1 and #2.

    4. Limbaugh will give a lot of the proceeds to charity, and will laugh heartily at #3.

But can it hold off Amazon #2 best seller Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, a 1400 day top 100 juggernaut, or #3 Diagnostic and Statistics Manual of the APA, a relative upstart at only five months in the too 100? That's swimming in deep, properly notated waters.

Kids are far less lemming-like than the typical Limbaugh listener. However, the reading levels are similar.

Yup, there's a reason that the iffy gold investment companies advertise on his show and that his tea company evidently sells moderately well despite being carried in essentially no stores and requiring you to go through the hassle of mail-ordering drinks. He has a fan base that will buy literally anything he puts his name on.

Fred, if I were you and your wife, I would feed your kids a heavy diet of Limbaugh on the radio. It may help you avoid the tatoos, and piercings.

My kids listened to Rush from the time they were pre-kindergarten. They've done very well. Rush helped. If only to counteract any idiot libbies they may have encounterd in HS and College...that happened to be their teachers or instructors. Let's say we "vaccinated" them against the disease of liberalism. Just like a flue shot.

yeah, that was an exaggeration on my part. but Rush didn't make his millions by sticking to facts. he's appealed to emotion and animosity.
