After Zook lost to Mississippi State he was immediately fired and the process of fixing the program started. We are waking up from another embarrassing loss and nothing is running across the wires about major changes to the program. So, we go to the games with the coaching staff we have and not the ones we want and try to make due and hope changes will be made during the off season. Unless...anyone has rumors out there they want to share..

That MSU team we lost to in '04 was terrible. The Mizzou team that beat us yesterday is 7-0. Big difference.

You have to remember that Zook had a very embarrassing and very public incident with a fraternity on campus.

It was the type of incident that showed that Zook was out of his depth as a head coach. I think that was what really did him in and the loss to Miss St allowed Foley to pull the trigger.

I haven't seen anything that shows CWM is out of his depth as a head coach like Zook. He has had some bad breaks this year and the offense needs to be worked out but I think he has shown he is very capable of running the program.

I have a rumor, our fans are knee jerk fans and most of you only show up and talk if we are losing.

Wait thats not a rumor, thats the truth.

I really hate this Nole op. I don't mind the negative crap (to a degree) if it's really a true Gator fan but this guy is a proven troll who only shows up to sh*t on the program. I wish he wouldn't be able to start threads and post until he proved to the mods or GC powers that he isn't a rival fan. We all know he is.

I am not a knee jerk fan, I assure you. My name is Brian Dowling (I don't hide behind a bogus screen name) I am a Bull Gator, I went to undergrad and law school at UF. My parents met at UF. I'm up in my hotel room in Missouri right now and was at the game yesterday with a couple other Bull Gators. I support, and will always support this program. But after what I saw yesterday, including stuff on the sidelines that wasn't on TV, Muschamp has lost this team, and lost my support (and the guys I'm up here with as well). I'm not renouncing my allegiance or anything stupid like that. But I'm telling you - this is not just "knee jerk" fan griping after a loss. There's something fundamentally broken with our program which needs fixing. I' ve got complete faith in JF to do that, but we're in a bad place right now.

The team that lost to Miss State under Zook was playing with a full team, basically -- Leak, Fiason, Wynn, Caldwell, Jackson, Small, Cornelius . . .

Terrible comparison to this year's situation IMO.

We aren't losing games b/c of a bad head coach. Nick Saban wou;d be in the same situation with all of these injuries and the mess Meyer left us with.

Saban would be looking for another job instead of waiting to get fired.

Is that the same "mess" that almost made it to the BCS title game last year?

We keep hearing that, but for those of us who could not see the "not on tv stuff," what are you talking about ?

Inquiring minds would indeed, like to know.

I think some of this is the recruiting void during the UM quit/come back/quit again coupled with some key injuries. That being said, there were some coaching moves yesterday that left me shaking my head. The biggest one was when we ran KT down their throats, go 75 yards without a pass and turn around and throw 3 straight passes. They couldn't stop the run at that point, and we stop running?

I still want Muschamp to be the guy, but at some point, we have to stop blaming Urban Meyer. He hasn't coached here in 3 years...

The only reasonable explanation is that we were trying to surprise them. (You know, pass on first down, which a lot of folks here have been wanting.) The trouble is, we don't have the ability to surprise with things like a pass.

A bunch of guys laughing, goofing around. This is what the Powell fight/breakup was about. And I'm not talking about guys just blowing off steam or nervous energy - I'm talking about guys yukking it up while their QB was getting killed. This was NOT everyone - Fowler in particular was hurt in the first half and kept forcing himself back in every play, even though he was bent over in pain between every play. That guy was a complete beast and he never quit or gave up. I don't want to single out or pick on guys for bad behavior and be wrong - lot of this was guys in groups and my angle was bad with the sun in my eyes where I was sitting- but it was definitely D-linemen.

Not blaming Meyer per se. It happens anytime you have a coaching change. Usually about the time those kids would be Jr.s/Sr.s. (3rd year) It happened to SOS in 92. UM in 07 and WM this year.
