That's UAB he interviewed for the head job at, not Bama. His interview at Bama was to be an assistant on Saban's staff and he decided to take the HCIW job at FSU instead.

Please explain how a guy can be a top 5 coach and has not ever won a thing? Personally I thing Petrino is king of the douch bags, when it come down to it....he can coach offense, fine. But top 5 NO WAY?

He is not going to make any more of an impact than any other potential candidate, and has too much baggage....dude is just a punch line and joke...

"For what it’s worth, ESPN‘s Kirk Herbstreit was very emphatic when asked about the Saban-to-Texas rumors, saying the Longhorns should “immediately scratch” him off their coaching to-do list and look elsewhere.

“There’s no chance. No chance of that happening,” Herbstriet told theDallas Morning News. “Nick Saban will work TV sitting next to us on our set before he’ll be the head coach at Texas … He’ll be at Alabama for another five years, and then he’ll be working TV after that … I know Nick Saban better than anybody. It’s not going to happen.”

Charlie Strong to UTx and Urban Meyer to Louisville. Since Papa John's is a big 'Ville booster, ole Urbs can eat pizza in his golf cart until he's fat and happy!

How has he not won a thing? Maybe you need to look at his coaching history before spouting untruths. And we know that isn't the true measure of a coach's ability. Stick Saban at Vanderbilt and he's not winning a conference championship. That wouldn't mean he's not the best in the business.

Saban to Texas (20 mil in hidden compensation to pay off bad investments... that'll work)
Meyer to Bama (Bama fans immediately claim Meyer always owned Saban's azz)
Kiffen to Ohio State (Gene Smith lauds Kiffen at the announcement claiming he'll uphold the program's tradition of integrity)
Miles to Meatchicken (Hoke fired after embarrassing bowl loss... Michigan returning to it's "grass" roots)
Jimbo to LSU (where else would a guy named Jimbo coach?)
Franklin to reFSU (Franklin looking forward to maintaining the lofty academic standards and respect for women that FSU exemplifies)
Weiss to Vandy ("decided schematic advantage" impresses the tenured professors assigned to the hiring committee)
Petrino to Kansas (somebody has to take him)
Kerwin to WKU (wooohooo - Kerwin!)

Covers most of the names that float through here.

Are you kidding? What championships has he won? Isn't that how we measure great coaches? Top 5 coaches? Ok, so a coach at vandy that is 30-18 over 4 years or so would be considered a great coach, that makes sense....

Yep, I'm the fool for thinking coaches need to win titles to be considered great, I mean that's how you get in the ring of honor at UF right? I thought that was for championship coaches....my bad

Nope you were right! He won conference USA is 04 and big east in 06!

Best HBC ever! Add that he has never stayed employed more than 5 years at one stop, and he's a program builder to boot! Some people kill me, spout untruths? Looking at his history and he's even more pathetic!

What if this OC doesn't like Gainseville, since he has lived in a desired town to live in, Austin, TX. He won't be here long. So Will is going to hire a buddy. I guess since he is, he is trying to write the story for picking him, it is difficult for Will, so the athletic dept. has twenty people helping Will draft this story. I wish we could get some people here who would be vested in staying around a little longer than a short term approach. Oh well, I know that the story will tell all the great things about Major. He didn't come with Will the first time so now with him losing his job, he is interested. We are picking up sloppy seconds! Say it isn't so.

Captured Afrika Korps soldiers taken in the Sahara were sent to Texas. Since the men there had gone to war, the need for farm labor was huge so they paid the prisoners to work in exchange for money they could buy beer with.

The prisoners said the heat was worse there than in the Sahara and many chose no beer.

But since Saban is the devil, it is perfect for him.
