Why would Jimbo leave with Jameis having at least one more year of play time left? I don't know much about Applewhite, but I would laugh my ass off at FSU fans if Jimbo left to Texas.

    Big money........
Supposedly, Applewhite and Muschamp are very good friends, Brown is leaving and Texas wants Fisher, not Saban, because of Sabans age.

I know very little about Applewhite. Being "Muschamp's friend" doesn't provide me with any comfort that he'd be picked for the right reasons... what do we know about his credentials? I see Texas is 42nd Nationally in scoring offense.

I would not be mad if this happened. Major knows how to transition out of the offense we ran this year seeing as he did it this year.

Applewhite was the supposed OC when Muschamp first got hired.....then out of nowhere Weiss was hired.

Applewhite was fresh off of a mediocre year at Texas (and they went out and replaced him w/ Harsin...who was replaced by Brent Pease, btw, at Boise and who is now head coach at Arkansas State) and had gotten fired from Bama after Saban's first year (6-6). He's now the co-OC at Texas...and they've struggled big-time. Not sure why he'd be "the man" to save our program (or Muschamp's ass)....

Hey, these things get started and there is no stopping them until a new hire is made.
I will tell you Applewhite spent time in Jacksonville as a kid, his parents are Alabama alum, he ended up at UT, spent time with Saban, went back to UT and is friends with both Fisher and Muschamp.

This has been my favorite part of the year for a while now--rumor season. Applewhite to Florida is a believable rumor, but Fisher to Texas is too far a stretch for me to believe.

On the bright side Applewhite guarantees Muschamp is gone after next year. He is not the answer.

Unless Mack calls it quits, Major is going nowhere.

I have seen the JF to Tejas rumor for a couple of weeks. If Tejas wants JF and JF is interested, Tejas will take him from the clown college. FSU cannot spend the kind of money UT can. UT is a blueblood of college football and the most profitable ad in the country.

MA to UF wouldn't surprise me at all. Another yes man that will do the slow death offense. I'm curious if JF would go for it with MA baggage.

Might as well hire old liver spot as a consultant to the hbc when he is fired since we seem to be collecting Tejas trash.

Why would anyone shoot the messenger for a message board rumour? Is the OP insinuating this is fact? ;)

Holy geezus. I have never seen a post so wrong on the Internet.

Muschamp wanted Applewhite but agreed to not poach anyone from UT. In order to keep Applewhite, Brown agreed to promote him to co-offensive coordinator due to recruiting purposes (Major staying on basically saved that class) when Greg Davis was fired. Mack wanted Paul Cryst (Pitt HC) but he turned it down because he didn't want a Co-OC gig, but Harsin would and it was Harsins offense the last 2 years.

This is Majors first year as sole OC and the offense improved to the point they are down to the last week of the year and playing for a possible BCS bowl.
