Roper to have total control of offense.

Cistern is right in the point about running the ball more, but that's what Muschamp wants, and it's work quite well at many places. In his three seasons, he's ran the ball 59%, 65%, and 69% of the time. Obviously last season was the highest, and most will agree as to why, but I'm not certain Muschamp even imagined he'd run this much. Saban in that same time period ran it 56%, 65%, and 59%. The difference was better players and coaching on the offensive side. Our last two classes have been solid and we have two new coaches who look the part. Last season duke ran it 55% of the time and I believe that's what Muschamp wants it to be around. Can't wait to see!!!

This makes it sound like VIP status is off somewhere in the clouds or in never never land. Where the hell would you go? To an Andrew Spivey article? :)

Hey do they issue "members only" jackets? :D

I believe the main difference you will see in the run to pass ratio play calling this year with Roper will not only be the typical spread formations, but the difference in play calling on down and distance.

Just an example: With Roper at the helm, 3rd and 2 from the opponents 28 will not be the typical, predictable power run formation going off tackle where the D lines up 9 guys in the box to defend us. We'll go spread with at least 3 wide and have a much better chance to convert.

I mean the main formation in the offense is 3 wide but if they flood the box there is a pass check already built into the run play

He certainly could have a worse overall record an worse recruiting. He will never be the head coach at UF

If Muschamp decides to go for it on fourth down, he can let Roper call the play, but whether to punt, kick a field goal, or go for it on 4th down is a game management decision that the head coach has to make. Not should. Has to. If they don't think Muschamp can make that decision as a head coach, they need to get another coach.

Great post, Gray....and an example of why we needed a new OC.

There's no reason we can't be creative with our offense - I think the worst part of an offense is predictability - and we've seen enough of that over the past 6 years to last us a friggin' lifetime!!!

First play of the game......throw a bomb to one of our receivers....touchdown!!!

One thing for certain. If a play blows up for a loss or turnover, many here will blame Muschamp for it, even if Roper called the play.
