"Rivals had Norris ranked as the No. 95 overall player in the Class of 2014."

I don't get too caught up in rankings, but if we were to say land #100-#150 players instead of #95, I don't see the big deal.

We've had some success with players not in the Top 100...

We liked Norris, but as versatile as Francis is we didn't need him. Larrier is another option if we desperately need a three. The bigger issue right now is landing help in the paint.

They may have decided to pass on Norris, I am not sure. I just don't think we have a good chance with Winslow (5% is my guess as he seems between duke and Arizona) or Stanley Johnson (1% also my guess as he seems a heavy Arizona lean). We really don't have any other top tier 2/3s on the board (although we really don't have to have another 2/3 this year). We need some bigs and Abu (along with Terrell) are visiting Providence. I would not be surprised if Providence gets them, as we don't have a lot of room for Terrell. Looney really likes Duke. Lyles probably between Louisville and Uk. I think big Isaac Haas might go to Bama. Okonoboh seems pretty bent on Indiana. I am not being negative, I just don't see us with very many options left. Delgado has been mentioned, but he doesn't seem to have serious interest in us. Cliff Alexander also seems unlikely.
Can anyone give me a more detailed update on how we stand with some of these top tier guys?

Probably time to move on to the 2015 class for another big man. Not the coaches, but us. Nobody gets excited about diamonds in the rough until they get polished.

I like that line Strange. Very true, haha. I am hoping diamonds in the rough like Dillon Graham and Devon Walker get a little more polishing this year. Hopefully Yeguette will get a good polishing on offense as well.

We aren't taking another 2 this year but as for 3's you missed Kelly Oubre who is ranked pretty high.

Yes, I know no more 2s. I was referring to combo 2/3s. I know Oubre has some interest. Do you know how strong that interest is?

Norris isn't a post player, he's a perimeter player, and we didn't "miss" on him anyway. He's a 3-ball shooter who isn't a good half-court defender or press defender. We passed on him as we have better options, and because we aren't in desperate need of another SF in this class (especially one that can't defend in the half-court/press, which is a major focus of Billy's coaching and recruiting strategy the last few years), we can afford to hold out even if none of those options pan out.

gator_gary has no idea what our chances are with any of these recruits, or whether we "passed" or "missed," other than what he reads from writers on other websites. Take it from someone who has a little insight on what is going on behind the scenes. There is a method to the madness here.

I was kind of questioning why we were after him in the first place.

Go ahead and tell me our better options that we have a legitimate shot at Osiris. Outside of Francis playing the 3, who do we put there if DFS goes pro? I'll wait on your all knowing response. Why don't you lay it out for us, 'from someone who knows what is going on behind the scenes.' Haha, go read what you just wrote in the mirror. Then go beat your chest.

Basically, you are overly pessimistic. Not every single one of our players are going to go pro. The staff generally knows what they are doing. Our bigs recruiting this year is a little iffy right now because it's a down year for bigs. That's just the reality of the situation. We might miss on an elite big this year, but it's not going to damn our 2014/2015 season. We are also in great shape with bigs in 2015.
