Brissett just has more presence than most guys do, including JD. Watch him in an interview. Watch him engaging other players on and off the field. He's a natural leader and the other players believe in him.

On the field he also has better pocket presence than JD. He knows how to slide away from the rush and keep his eyes down field to make plays and he seemed comfortable doing it.

I know he didn't really play any better than JD when given the opportunity - it was pretty much a wash. But if I had to pick one of them that would progress into an effective "pro style" QB quicker, it would be Brissett in my estimation.

That doesn't change the fact that Driskel is the better runner and that is probably what we needed last year behind that OL, and it certainly resulted in an excellent record for us. Not likely Brissett would have done any better.

Honestly at this point it'd be shocking if either ever cracks an all-American team (almost went all-conference but c'mon Jacoby will be in the ACC).

The D might have showed up for a qtr or two but by no means came to play 60 mins and that's an absolute fact. The Offense was just putrid. You go back and watch the body language of the team for the majority of the game and I think you'll get the drift.

“I've said all along, I don’t think he’s been given the fair shot which was said was going to happen,” Daniels says of Brissett's time at Florida."

Brissett started multiple games and split a game with Driskel. If Brissett never played then yes he can say he wasn't given a fair shot but he did play.

I watched Driskel and Brissett (who I was pulling for) at a UF practice and Driskel to my surprise was doing better in the passing drills. UF's weak OL did mandate a better runner. Wouldn't the Palm Beach coach play his QB who was best suited to his teams weaknesses?

Hopefully the Palm Beach coach eventually realizes that Jacoby being given playing time and starts as an underclassman is a fair shot. Brissett needed to show he was a superior passer to Driskel and that Brissett could shake free of the rush as well as Driskel could. Unfortunately he didn't. I will root for Brissett this year especially when he faces FSU.

Spurrier gave Kresser a full game to play even though Wuerffel was playing like am Heisman winner. It wouldn't have hurt Muschamp to honor his word and let Brisset have a little more opportunity to play last year but I do agree that Driskel was the right choice.

They were each supposed to play a half in the season opener last year but Brisset got 3 plays.

They played stupid and out of control at times. The Onside kick to start the second half was a really bad call. Coaches have to own that.

He looked a little better in the Spring game but didn't stand out when Driskel got injured.
