Will probably need to go JUCO route and snag two. The Silberman thing to me makes little sense. Why would you leave? He actually plays quite a bit and would have next year as a redshirt senior. Confusing.

maybe he is applying to grad school elsewhere and hopes to play wherever he lands. I applaud him for letting the coaches know in advance

Actually, that does make sense. Perhaps he did not get into the grad program of his choice at UF and that forced his hand. Or the program he wants was not offered at UF.

9 returning - Humphries, Garcia, Green, Thurman, Jackson, Dillard, Moore, Brown, Johnson.

Adding - Angus, Dorsey, Kelleher and Sharpe.

If everybody sticks that puts us at 13, but we really need to add 1 (minimum) and 2 more (especially a guy like Prince) to get our numbers to 15. If they do then our numbers should finally be coming around and we will be in a very good position to start really stacking depth with the 2015 class.

Wow. A couple of injuries away from being in trouble again.

I hope we are changing our paradigm and are going to be more willing (and able) to get freshmen on the field.

We have guys in that group that haven't proven to be back from past or current injury so we are nowhere near the actual listed number of players at that position. This is very interesting. I never said exciting just interesting.

Going into the spring, I imagine that the starters are Humphries and Green at the tackles with Garcia and Moore at the guards...only Garcia, was playing at the end of the year.

The center position seems to be wide open with Thurman and Dillard the two guys most talked about

Humphries, Garcia, Dillard, Moore, Green seem to have the inside track. But Brown, Jackson and hopefully Sharpe will push them.

Nine's not bad, and we've got five in our recruiting class so far. Hate losing Silberman though.

Yeah, odd to me. As badly as we need OL you might think he would be implored to stick around and help.

Problem as I see it is we're already offering projects on OL, the type that transfer in a couple years without contribution. Are we recruiting just to have a practice squad?

Heard about an hour ago by e-mail from a friend that there have been a number of kids who were really disappointed with the offense this year and feel like the coaches were not honest with them, and Silberman and Taylor were two of them. Apparently, the coaches actually tried to talk Silberman out of transferring. He may actually have second thoughts about it but we'll see.

Heard Tyler Murphy may be transferring too (saw there was another thread on that but haven't read it yet), and that the coaches are doing everything they can to keep WR Demarcus Robinson in the fold too. He was one of the more vocal about the offense in the locker room this year. Don't be surprised if he transferred too, though I hope he stays, but what can you do when players don't trust their coaches anymore?

As of right now we will have 10 OL for spring (Keheller is an EE). My guess is the coaches expected 11. Silberman was probably the only player that transferred yesterday that they wanted to keep. I dont know why people are acting like we are in terrible shape on the OL. They are going to end up with 15 OL players going into fall camp which is where you should be at.

Going into spring I suspect the only person that has a guaranteed starting position is Garcia.

Gator07, We don't believe in freshmen linemen on the field. We do seem to believe in some things that most would disavow.
