Coutesy of Gatorzone (this year) after stripping off of the seniors and known transfers, (note that for some reason Debose is not listed) , but pending decisions by Powell, Roberson and Robinson, this is pretty much the list of returnees.

I am excited about the young talent at DL and LB. Our secondary will be exceptional if Roberson returns.

Offensively, other than QB and RB, no depth to speak of. Happy about the return of Debose, who I hope has a Patton-like jump. If healthy, the OL should be much improved with all starters likely set other than center, but rarely, do you get lucky enough to have only 6-7 that can survive the entire season.

We were saying the same thing MOL after the 2011 season and the 2012 season. I'm ready for a team to be reckoned with NOW, not down the long and winding road.

I'm with you. Fortunately, I don't think Muschamp gets two years. Either this team wins next year, or he gets axed.

A 7-4 regular season won't be cutting it. 8-3 might be enough for Foley, but it certainly won't help the noise in the program (especially if those losses are to rivals).

Muschamp needs to win next year--and needs to start beating top-tier teams (especially rivals). If he doesn't, then he'll be shown the door very quickly.

Nice post oneatatime, we def have some talent to work with as long as we can compete at the LOS.

I think Foley will take 7-5 or 8-4. It's improvement and he seems to be set on keeping Muschamp. If we have a clumsy season and a great coach is available, maybe we see Muschamp leave. But in that case we are still rebuilding and installing a new system. uggh!

He probably had better beat georgia. He also probably should show that he knows how to win, during a game.

I tend to agree. We have four easy wins next year (if we don't lay eggs as in Candy and Georgia Southern). That means if he goes 4-4 in the other eight, he probably stays. If he beats one or two of Tennessee, LSU, Georgia and FSU, then 8-4 will almost certainly keep him for a 5th year. But if we're scoring in the mid-20s again and playing down to the level of our competition, even 8-4 should earn Boom a permanent trip to his beach house.

It is not like basketball where we are dealing with 14 guys. I forget about guys like Bostwick and Brantley until I see the entire DL roster. One or both be the next Floyd or Easley

7-5 is improvement from this season, but should not--and should never be--considered the standard at Florida after Spurrier.

Once every now and then? Sure.

Not consistently. If Muschamp has not consistently shown the ability to win more than 7 games, then he shouldn't be a coach at a program like Florida.

Agreed. It shouldn't be. But if the team is looking competitive, 7-5 might be enough. 8-4 almost certainly will be. And 9-3 is a cinch to keep him. If Foley will keep him for another year after the worst season since 1979, I simply don't see him easily parting with Boom after a winning year.

    Amen. Preach it brother.

No chance 7-5 should keep him around. 8-4 shouldn't either. Zook was 8-4 each of his first two years and people didn't want him. 9-3 or bust with 10-2 being the expected in my opinion. 11-1 is surpassing expectations with 12-0 being an A+ student.

10-2 could be slightly ambitious but it is not unreasonable to think UF should win 4 of 6 against Bama, LSU, UGA, USCe, Mizzou, and the SWAC with 3 of them at home. 3-3 should be tolerable. 2-4 simply isn't good enough in my opinion.

Florida should win a minimum of 5 games next year (the creampuffs, plus Kentucky and Tennessee). The other 6 games are teams that will either be highly ranked or have been highly ranked over the past few years (plus Vandy, which has been a consistent bowl team in recent years). Consistent top 25 programs. The type that, if we hope to be considered a top 25 program, we should beat more often than not.

Next year, Muschamp needs to halt the slide and make serious progress on improving the program's perception--and the only way to do that is to take on top 25 teams and beat them. Several of them. Otherwise, it'll be 3 out of 4 years that Muschamp has not fielded a good product and there'd be no defending him anymore.

This roster should be enough to win at least 10 games next year, not even including the 2014 class. Seriously we look loaded

Roster has potential and I think we could win 10 if the coaching comes together, but we have to consider that we'll play four to five top ten teams and six to seven top 20 teams.

9-3 would be a very solid record against that kind of schedule.

When the words key and walkons are used in the same sentence, you are in trouble. Unless the sentence is "the walkons don't need keys to the game jersey cabinet."

I count 68 on your list. Figure at least 5 more gone (draft, transfers, injury) and that puts us at 63. Meaning to end our self-imposed scholarship reductions, I don't think we have been at 85 since Muschamp has been here (for any number of reasons), we need approx. 23-25 recruits. We are at about 12 recruits right now with a Head coach under fire and a yet to be named OC. If we continue to be under the cap we will continue to suffer disproportionately from injuries, drafts, transfers and busts.

There is more going on here than basic coaching issues. To right this ship many things need to be done including filling our 85 scholarships with quality players/prospects. Something that UF should be able to do.

The latest estimate is that we will have a recruiting class of 22. Of course if we lose Powell and Roberson to the NFL and Robinson transfers it would be tough to replace that experience and potential with those last 3 recruits
