Great movie - one of my favourite football movies of all time!

Only about 1 hour left but thought I'd mention it.

No "The Walking Dead" on tonight anyway....

I went to Jr. High and half of 10th grade to Lake Taylor in Norfolk - and our team was called the "Titans".

I'll never watch that movie again. I must have watched it 50x throughout middle and high school. It was every substitute teachers' go-to movie.

And it was replete with deliberate historical errors, but more importantly I think "Walking Dead" is now on hiatus until February.

As one who lived through the 60's I can personally attest to the racial tensions touched on in the movie.

It's part of what I appreciate the most in the story.

Great acting and music soundtrack as well.

    Very inspiring.....

Except that the movie takes place in 70s, well after integration. According to the actual players on the team, the racial elements in the movie (among the students) was pure Hollywood fabrication. I don't doubt that the tension between rival coaches was real, but that wasn't the focus of the film either.

I live two miles from the actual TC Williams HS this movie was based off of. It's only about 2, 2.5 miles from Old Town (Alexandria). They have a very nice stadium and are located in a decent area.

My high school was in the same conference with TC Williams and I played against them later that decade. At that point, they were not allowed to play any home night games due to problems they had with their fans' behavior, and they were one incident away from having all of their sporting events held at unannounced neutral sites. They, like most teams beat us like a drum. Seeing the movie once was enough. :D
